#291RFA - Fights up on the board.. Little basics for ya...
Bojan Velickovic (12-3) vs Ben Smith (15-3)
Fighter Rankings:
Velickovic #111
Smith #151
Velickovic fought in an attempt to get on the TUF 19 cast, losing by first round KO to Tim Williams. Since that time he's gone 4-1 on the regional circuit and has won his last 3, all in RFA. The 27 year old Serbian fighter is 3-1 overall in RFA and this will be his first main event. His only loss in the promotion came to former UFC fighter Gilbert Smith. His last two RFA wins have been by decision.
Smith, coincidentally enough, has also lost to Gilbert Smith in RFA. That loss in June of last year was the only loss in the last nine fights for the 35 year old who fight out of Las Vegas. Smith is 3-2 overall in RFA with 2 of the wins coming by decision.
Middleweights Adam Stroup (10-2) vs John Poppie (6-2)
Fighter Rankings:
Stroup #89
Poppie #159
Stroup also tried out for TUF 19, losing to Dhiego Lima in his fight to get into the house via 2 round decision. He's since won 5 of his last 6, all by finish. Those fights have all taken place in regional promotion SCL and this will be his RFA debut. This will be the most high profile fight of the Denver Colorado's native career.
Poppie is yet another fighter who lost a qualifying fight for that TUF 19 season, being submitted in the 3rd round by Josh Clark. He went on to win his next 3 fights after that before debuting in RFA at RFA 28 in a title match against Andrew Sanchez. The 25 year old, who fights out of Wisconsin, was knocked out in the 3rd round of that fight.
Light Heavyweights Cody Mumma (8-2) vs Jeremy Kimball (11-5)
Fighter Rankings:
Mumma #76
Kimball #165 Middleweight
In a running theme for the night, Mumma lost a qualifying fight for TUF 19, being submitted in the first round by Anton Berzin. He was knocked out in his next fight but went on to win his next 3, including his RFA debut over Colton Vaughn in November 2014. The Colorado fighter has finishes in every one of his professional wins.
Kimball moves up a weight class after competing his entire career at Middleweight. The Colorado fighter has lost 2 of his last 3, being submitted in both of those fights. Kimball fought twice in preliminary fights for Bellator, going 1-1 there and this will be second RFA fight. He submitted Chidi Njokuani at RFA 7 in his promotional debut.
Bantamweights Hugo Viana (8-3) vs Zac Riley (3-3)
Fighter Rankings:
Viana #150
Riley #116 in the US West region on Tapology
Viana is the biggest name on this card with a 1.7 SP score. He's a 6 fight UFC veteran, having gone 3-3 for the promotion. He did lose 3 of his last 4 which led to his release. Most recently he fought at UFC 190, losing a decision to Guido Cannetti. His only two other career losses have been to current UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw and unbeaten prospect Aljamain Sterling. The 33 yr old Brazilian lost to Rony Jason in the finals of the first TUF Brazil tournament. This will be his first US fight outside of the UFC.
Riley fights for the 3rd time in RFA, having split his first two fights. Most recently, he submitted Shai Lindsey in the first round at RFA 31 last October. This will be the most high profile opponent for the 23 year old Colorado fighter.Comment -

I really like to read or listen to facts rather then opinions. Everyone has under the sun has different opinions but facts or stats can't be disputed... I gravitate towards that.. #301Probably will. Good luck betting on a guy that went from the best striking coaches in the world to one of the worst gyms in the history of MMA. Guy has so much baggage right now it isn't even funny. He doesn't wanna wrestle anymore and he's facing a guy that can easily take him on the feet.Comment -

I passed on the straight because I didn't think Riley could win, but luckily just for giggles and kicks I did throw a 20 spot on this 2 team parlay just to be entertained while watching.. This could work out if Stroup wins now....

#304Final Card:
TJ Dillashaw -140/-145..................................... . $7500 to win $5270.93
TJ Dillashaw wins inside 5 round distance +315...$500 to win $1575
Eddie Alvarez Wins by Dec +500............................. $250 to win $1250
Font/Gomez WON'T go the distance -270..................... $1350 to win $500
Browne/Mitrione Under 1.5 Rounds -180.................. $900 to win $500
Ross Pearson -150..................................... ....$900 to win $600
Ross Pearson Wins in round 3 +1700............. $100 to win $1700

O'connell +230.................................... $300 to win $690
O'connell by ko +615.......................... $300 to $1845 (hedged with Latifi by sub at +415 $150 to win $622.50)
Felder wins inside distance +130.......... $300 to win $390
Felder -240 ........................................ $1200 to win $500
BTW my base unit is $300, if your unit is $100, and you would like to follow what I bet, then you'd want to put $100 on my $300 play, $300 on my $900 plays, $400 on my $1200 plays, and so on and so on, remember to bet within the means of your bankroll. if your Unit is 100 then divide the amount i'm risking by 3, if your unit is $50 then you'd divide what i'm risking by 6. everytime you increase your bankroll by $5000, you increase your unit by $50 dollars, this insures you will always have a continued bankroll, and never be out the race.Last edited by JoshKnows46; 01-16-16, 02:28 AM.Comment -

#306Cruz's footwork looking good here. quick takedowns against a dummy partner, but looks promising.
https://youtu.be/aW1OJB0nNEw
1.Dominick is an defensive orientated fighter who doesnt sit down on his punches and rather ducks or move while throwing strikes.
2.Long layoff with significant knee injury - while cruz have followed knee rehab tj has grown and developed. Sad, but true.
3.Tj dillashaws improved movement, Cruz may be on par, but this isnt an significant edge cruz have anymore.
4.Tjs Power
5.Tjs wrestling which probably negates cruz plan b when he gets hit. Cause Dominick gets hit and when that happens good luck trying to take down dillashaw with a tdd of 100%. Cruz may take down dillashaw once or twice but repeatedly, not likely.
6.A significant edge Cruz had before was cardio, while in this matchup Tj is the one with an edge in cardio.
Many who bets Cruz believes he will be a better version when hes not likely the best cruz at this point, perhaps 70-80% version of himself. Look closely on the first minute of the mizugaki, does Cruz look any different before the takedown? And even when he was champion he still had holes in his game mighty mouse and faber did exploit, although they didnt win.
I see a lot of similarities from Cowboy vs RDA in how people are viewing this fight
1. All the smart analyst (Conor R,P.Wyman, Jesse R, Nick kalikas, Joshknows etc) are in agreement of TJ winning not one that i follow or believe is a legit analyst go for cruz, why? Their looking past what Dominick says and look at the details of the fight.
This also happened in the RDA vs Cerrone, the polls where like 70% in favour of Cerrone at fox and other places. Winning streak of seven fights and that Cerrone had found some sort of groove. Off course all the analyst brushed these arguments quickly off as bellony, soundly looking past the bullshit and evaluated RDAs skills and found him a bad matchup for Cerrone.
2. People buy into the Cruz is smarter than Dillashaw, which may be a legit point, but this isnt enough alone IMO to believe he will win How will this smartness really manifest itself in this fight? No words from the Cruz backers, that doesnt mean some kind of genious adjustment will happen during the course of the fight, but its hard to get a good grasp on what this actually means practically.
Therefor the logical pick is Tj.Dillashaw. The data to conclude that Cruz is the better fighter or have any advantages beyond having higher IQ simply isnt there.
Are you the TJ dillashaw of betting?
