      8.3.12: Cardinals Team Total Over 4.5 [-125]

Wolf goes for Milwaukee. He has bee n fairly solid of late, but his road ERA is still bloated @ 6.35. Between himself & their shaky bullpen, six of his nine road starts have seen the opposition score at least five. Cards raking lefties @ .314 at home.

Hot offense vs. Humber who has seen the visiting squad score at least six in all his seven home starts. Overall, that goes for 10 of his 15 starts. LA has 40 runs scored in their last four.

Dickey ranks 8th in run support at around 5.4 runs per game. In nine of his last ten starts, the Mets have scored at least five runs. Richard goes for SD. Six of his last ten starts and four straight @ PETCO have seen the opposition score at least four runs.

Good job in this thread EP. On the Mets in this one, I hope they can get Dickey some runs. They are playing better over the last week and they still have a chance for the playoffs, 8.5 behind for a wild card but they need to win these with a guy like Dickey on the mound.

                    8.4.12: Mariners Team Total Under 3.5 [-105]
Kuroda goes for the Yankees and he has been stellar @ Yankee Stadium this season with a 2.63 ERA. In 12 home starts, eight times the opposition has failed to score more than three runs. Even more impressive perhaps is Kuroda's 0.00 ERA in four day starts. That is 30 innings of scoreless baseball. Overall, seven of his last ten starts have seen the opposition score three or less.

                        Athletics Over 4 [-115]
One of our favorite OVERs guys, Ricky Romero goes opposite of Oakland today. In Romero's 22 starts, only five times has the opposition failed to get at least four runs. On the road, only two of 12 have failed to score at least four. The A's crushed Romero for eight runs in 1.1 IP a couple starts back and wound up with seven in a game where Romero only gave up two runs back in May. Oakland has scored at least four runs in six of seven meetings with Toronto this season. Toronto has given up at least four in six straight and eight of ten overall.

My book has cubs team total over 2 1/2 at even money and the under at -130. Kershaw hasn't been as dominant this year, then again it is the cubs. Does the over sound like bait?

Tough to take the Cubs scoring runs on the road against legit pitching IMO. Three doesn't seem like much, but I think it's six of their last seven roadies where they have scored two or fewer.

Ervin Santana and the reeling Angels pitching staff for the ChiSox. The Angels have given up 44 runs on this five game road trip. Their bullpen ERA continues to balloon on the road as it sits just under 5.00 now. Santana's last five starts overall and last five on the road have seen the opposing team score at least five. Santana has given up five or more on is own in nine of his 20 starts. Chicago has scored five or better in five straight @ home.

Dodgers Team Total Over 4 [-125]
Volstad for the Cubs. He of the 7.66 road ERA. He who has given up four runs or more in eight of his nine starts this season. He who has seen the opposition score five or better in each of those ten starts by game's end. Cubs have allowed at least four runs in four straight. LA's offense was MIA until this series started, but they got off on the good foot with six runs last night. They have been inconsistent lately, but Volstad looks like a superb elixir for this offense.

Cards offense is still hot. 15 runs in the 1st two games of this series. Marco Estrada for Milwaukee. Nine of his 12 starts have seen the opposition score at least five. Milwaukee pen likely to be involved against as Estrada struggles some to get deep into ball games.

Travis Wood goes for the Cubs. SD pounded him for six runs in 5 IP earlier this season. Five straight starts have seen the opposition score five or more against Chicago when Wood takes the mound. SD has actually had a little offense lately with at least four runs in seven of their last ten. Cubs have allowed at least four runs in six of their last nine overall.

The Twins have scored five or more in six straight meetings against the Indians and in seven of their last ten. Cleveland has been plastered for runs lately, giving up at least five in ten straight and double digits in five of those. Kluber gave up six runs in just 4.1 IP against Kansas City.
