The Toronto Blues Jays won the first of a three-game set against the Baltimore Orioles in thrilling fashion, and now we're looking at our Blue Jays vs. Orioles player props for Tuesday based on the best MLB odds.

No matter how effortless some of our MLB MVP odds favorites make it seem, hitting a baseball remains one of the most formidable challenges in sports. Slumps are an inevitable part of the game, but when an entire lineup falters simultaneously, it's a dire situation.

That's been the story for much of the 2024 season for the Toronto Blue Jays. However, signs of life are emerging among their core players. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. boasts an impressive .421 batting average with a 1.037 OPS in May, while Bo Bichette is riding a five-game hitting streak. In Monday's 3-2 extra-innings victory over the Orioles, these two players combined to reach base eight times.

Despite this resurgence from the Blue Jays, the Orioles remain a force. With the best record in MLB at 26-14 and the fifth-best run differential (+48), they continue to assert their dominance.

To complement Tuesday's MLB player props and expert picks, here are our best Blue Jays vs. Orioles player props and MLB picks (odds via our best MLB betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Blue Jays vs. Orioles expert picks

Kyle Bradish Under 5.5 strikeouts ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Kyle Bradish needed to wait until May 8 to make his season debut after dealing with an elbow ailment. He's still rounding into form in terms of being lengthened out and has yet to pitch into the sixth inning over two starts.

That could be coming on Tuesday against the Blue Jays after he threw 90 pitches during a win over the Washington Nationals, who provided a soft landing spot leading to nine strikeouts. But although the Blue Jays are often staring at an overflowing tire fire of issues offensively, striking out certainly isn't in that inferno.

The Jays have taken the walk of shame the third-fewest times in the majors. There's also only one Jays player in the top 80 leaguewide in strikeouts. Combine that with Bradish being pedestrian strikeout-wise, and there's a clear recipe for the Under on his punchout total hitting Tuesday.

Bradish posted 9.0 strikeouts per nine innings in 2023, which was right around the league average, and 8.5 in 2022. Toss in the right-hander perhaps not quite being in top form still yet post-injury and able to last long, and it's easy to see why he's projected for five strikeouts.

A $10 wager at these -141 odds through Betway would lead to a $17.09 payout on a 58.51% probability.

Ryan O'Hearn Over 1.5 total bases ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ryan O'Hearn doesn't see a pitcher on the mound when there's a righty. He sees a children's bouncy castle full of beach balls that tumble his way, and he can then swat at will.

O'Hearn is a righty-mashing specialist, and he's deployed almost solely for that purpose. He finished with a .297 batting average against righties in 2023, and O'Hearn is slashing an impressive .290/.377/.505 in that situation during 2024.

He faces a righty in Chris Bassitt on Tuesday who has been wildly inconsistent so far during 2024. Bassitt held his own against a top-tier Philadelphia Phillies lineup during his last time out, allowing only two earned runs over 6 1/3 innings. But he gave up 10 earned runs across 8 2/3 innings in his two prior outings.

Bassitt is also struggling mightily against lefties like O'Hearn, allowing a .324 batting average. Add it all up, and O'Hearn is well-positioned for success and projected for Over 1.5 hits on Tuesday.

A $10 wager on the +125 odds through Betway would lead to a $22.50 profit, with an implied probability of 44.4%.

Best odds: +125 via Betway

Chris Bassitt Over 2.5 earned runs allowed ⭐⭐⭐

Diving a little deeper into Bassitt's struggles against lefties, he's also giving up a .995 OPS, which is miles ahead of his .595 against righties.

Beyond the righty-dominating O'Hearn, the Orioles also trot out Adley Rutschman, the rising star and switch-hitter catching fresh off belting two homers on Monday from the left side, giving him three dingers over Baltimore's last two games. Rutschman's expected batting average sits in the 95th percentile, according to Baseball Savant, and his hard-hit percentage is in the 83rd.

The club will also surely feature Anthony Santander, stellar rookie Colton Cowser, Cedric Mullins, and Gunnar Henderson from the left side. They all factor into a power-packed group that's hit 39 homers against righties (fourth) with a .409 slugging percentage (sixth).

Wagering $10 on these -125 odds would lead to an $18 profit on a 55.6% implied probability.

Best odds: -125 via Betway
