Peng is playing some of the best tennis of her career to start the year off and she should benefit from a cooler day in Melbourne today after she started cramping up late in her match with Morita. Radwanska has quietly blistered through the last two rounds after struggling in her opener with Krumm. These two have met three times with the last coming in the US Open last year. Peng surprised Radwanska in three sets in that one. Radwanska is technically sound, but we know she is still working back from injury as well. This should be a back and forth battle that makes the OVER look nice to me.

RAONIC-FERRER OVER 3.5 SETS [-113]
It's hard not to be impressed with Raonic's game. Huge serve. Huge hitting and a great propensity for making big shots. He'll face his toughest task in Ferrer who is rolling right now, having won nine of ten sets in Melbourne. Still, with Raonic's big serve I THINK it's highly likely that he can take a set in this one. Ferrer while a great returner, still does not have the greatest serve, so I THINK that he could be prone to at least one set where he gets broken and Raonic is able to take it. Raonic showed against Youzhny how he would respond to his first adversity and it was by turning the tables and holding on for a win even when he didn't play the best tennis. That honus could be on Ferrer today who rarely has been tested here this week. Ferrer's fighting spirit + experience + Raonic's big game should equal at least fourt sets.

I have a feeling today's going to be a bit of an upset day. I put a small bet on each of the male dogs because I think these odds are a bit screwy in every match. I wouldn't be surprised if at least two of them win.

MEN'S DOUBLES: ROBREDO-GRANOLLERS [+145]
Quick play here on doubles about to start. They are up against the experienced Indian duo of Paes-Bhupahti. Robredo-Granollers are experienced and I THINK the Indians are getting a lot of respect for this price based on their past experience. First time they've teamed up in nine years since they were Slam regulars, winning titles. Both these teams already have doubles titles on hard courts this season. Should be a good match. Should not I orignally was going to take the Indians to use in a parlay, but more research showed me that Robredo-Granollers can hang here, I THINK ... we're gonna find out.

I wouldn't be surprised if he gets smucked this set either. I greened out my ML bet halfway through the first game so now I just need the handicap. Hopefully Sod can win the match for you but save my bet too.

Just a futures play for me ... I thought long and hard today about getting an outright on Murray to win the Open to hedge for a potential QF match-up, but decided not to mess with it today. Probably gonna hate myself for that. I'm going to call Adidas tomorrow and tell them lime green IS NOT a good idea.

Soderling rolling this set, not a shocker. This is why I f-ing hate Dolgopolov. Guy plays so many lopsided matches. I think if this one had ended in four the way it is going ... the over would not have hit which is ridiculous.

Will say this. Great match from Dolgopolov, but against Murray [if he is through] - don't fall for taking him on the ML. Soderling is a clod who can't move quick enough to catch Dolgopolov at his best, Murray is quick and defensive and will make Dolgo work much harder to construct points and get winners IMO.

Not certain on that one. I think Ferrer is going to win, but Raonic's serve is so good that even if he loses, it could be 3-2. Of course it also could be 3-0 Ferrer if Ferrer serves well and gets a timely break here and there. I took over 3.5 sets for the match because I think both guys win at least a set to get that done.

Dunno if they will win, but Bupanna-Quereshi at +195 in men's doubles is ridiculous. Zimonjic is a premier doubles player teaming with Llodra, but they should not be that big a favorite. Maybe an Uncle Wally play.
