#1717Betonline is better for live betting than 5Dimes. They have had live betting on select matches for several rounds in Montreal and Toronto. They also had live betting last week for the "smaller" tournaments in Carlsbad for the WTA & Washington for the ATP. Very underrated book for tennis IMO. Only place US players can also find +/- 1.5 set bettings for some matches.Comment -

#1719You must be thinking of somewhere else. Betonline.ag has every line available ML, spreads, game totals and others than 5dimes does not have - the +1.5 sets for semis and finals mostly and player's game totals.Comment -

#1722ATP Cincinnati
The last of the big tournaments prior to the US Open as the Hard Court series winds down this week in Cincy and next week in Winston-Salem. Federer returns as the defending champion, but mostly will be looking to gain confidence with his back proving troublesome of late. Djokovic, Murray and Nadal all are scheduled here as well. Given Nadal's title and focus on the US Open, I would be a little surprised if he didn't pull out of Cincinnati - although with the Montreal Title, Rafa may also be feisty enough to see what he can do this week as well.
DJOKOVIC QUARTER
Djokovic will be none too pleased losing to Nadal in Montreal. He will have to refocus, but his draw here puts him in shape for another semifinal run at minimum. Gasquet is the top seed again opposing him in this quarter. That worked out quite well for Djokovic in Montreal. Djokovic looks like he won't have much to worry about through his first two matches. He'll get Monaco or Melzer and then could see anyone from Pospisil, Simon, Goffin or US qualifer McDonald. None will keep him up at night. The bottom half with Gasquet figures to be much more competitive. Isner faces F.Mayer for the right to face Gasquet in round two. That could signal a quick exit for Gasquet perhaps. Querrey and Tisarevic battle in another opening round clash while Raonic could be a hangover victim with Jack Sock waiting for him first-up. Isner should have a much better shot at another deep run this week after getting some rest upon his early Rogers Cup exit. Should Isner meet Gasquet in round two, the winner looks to have a leg up on advancing to the quarters. Raonic could slip through a round or two if he can shake off the whipping at the hands of Nadal, but I'm not banking on that. The Pospisi-Simon opener should tell you a lot about last week. Pospisil had a great week in Montreal, but there is a reason why Pospisil hasn't really "arrived" on the scene - consistency. Simon will force him to be just that.
FERRER QUARTER
Ferrer crashed out in his first-up in Montreal as he struggled to find himself. That's not exactly a news flash as Ferrer has rarely enjoyed a ton of success on the US hard courts before the US Open. He has Harrison first up this week. Should he survive there, he has Klizan, Tursunov, Blake or Janowicz waiting in the next round. I wouldn't count on a long week for Ferrer in Cincinnati even if that draw isn't necessarily the toughest. Del Potro leads the charge on the bottom of the quarter and his injury status will be something to watch. If his back isn't an issue, you'd expect him to have an excellent shot to be in the semis. He'll have Paire or Davydenko up first. Nishikori and F.Lopez meet in this part of the quarter along with Mannarino and Chardy. If Del Potro isn't 100%, this whole quarter could turn wide open in a hurry. There's a lot of "ifs" in this quarter due to health and lack of form. I think a couple of the seeded players could lose in their first matches here.
NADAL QUARTER
I will proceed as if Nadal will play which could ultimately set up another Federer-Nadal clash. First though, Federer will have to find some consistency with his new racket. It has eluded him of late and the prospect of playing Kohlschreiber or Fish first-up won't lend to a ton of confidence that Federer will be around long. There was certainly a point where you would not say Kohlschreiber or Fish would be a challenge to Federer, but there are no sure things for Federer now. In the bottom part of this half of the quarter, it's a glamour match-up with Anderson and Haas in the 1st round. The winner there would be looked at as the likely quarterfinalist if Federer fails to find anything again this week. The problem is the health of Haas who retired last week with a shoulder problem. Even at 100%, this would be tough for Haas. Nadal could choose to suit up this week, knowing his draw could yield some relatively simple matches. Becker or Andujar first-up and then Almagro, Dimitrov, Baker or Istomin. None has the prerequisite consistency needed to beat Nadal. Barring fatigue, I would think Nadal could push his way into the semis here. Keep an eye on Baker who returned from months off due to injury last week at the Aptos Challenger. Even though Istomin was in good form in Montreal, Baker should improve from last week and will have the motivation. Almagro-Dimitrov will be a solid 1st round match. Winner? Flip a coin.
MURRAY QUARTER
Murray was definitely disappointed last week with his loss to Gulbis in Montreal. He's been done no favors with a very tough draw that includes Youzhny or Gulbis in his 1st match. Quite certain Murray will be looking to put a voodoo curse on Gulbis to make sure he doesn't have the face the guy who whipped him in Montreal. If he survived that match, he should be able to slip into the quarters as Stepanek, Fognini or Benneteay will await him in the next. I'm interested to see Murray's effort level this week, especially if it's a revenge situation against Gulbis. He needs to have that killer instinct. Berdych drops in as the top seed on the top half of the quarter. He's got a better draw than Murray with Roger-Vasselin or Nieminen up first. Wawrinka is in this part of the draw, but he has not looked well recently. Seppi could jump up and bite him in round one. Berdych would be disappointed if he didn't get to the quarters with this draw. It's a better clay match-up, but Robredo-Bellucci in round one could be very good. This should be Berdych or Murray's quarter, but both have been susceptible to upsets. Gulbis would be the dark horse to watch out for, but he's as likely to lose to Youzhny as he is to beat Murray again.Comment -

#1725I usually dislike the 50-50s other than totals, but Kohlschreiber is one of those guys who normally skates through this stretch to the US Open. Every once in a bit, he'll win a few - but I'm going motivation. Fish has that and this is one of his favorite tournaments. Doesn't mean a pile of shit if he gets wiped out, but his improvement from Atlanta to Washington was decent and there's a chance to take the next step here. I also think the winner - whomever it be will have a shot to KO Federer.
Can I unload on BMS tomorrow, oh WTA king? Looks like a total mismatch since Vinci whipped her ass in Carlsbad, but ...Comment -

#1726BMS is one of those players that baffles me to no end. See her run at Stuttgart this year? She played some of the best tennis I've seen a woman on your play this year...and now in her last 2 matches she's lost to Riske (eating a 3rd set bagel mind you) and out of form Wickmayer. I guess her play solely depends on what color she dyes her hair or how much eye black she'll paint on her face come pre-match time. I really haven't a clue to anything BMS related. Vinci though is underrated on HC, I feel. Odds are justified.Comment -

Man, I can't trust Baker. Istomin is a flake, but Brian Baker looked so horrible after Wimbledon last season. Remember how awful his form was on hard courts last year (aside from the upset in the first round at Cincy of all places)? He lost to Kunitsyn and Ram, among others. Yikes.
Did you watch any of his matches at Aptos? Did you see something there that makes you confident in his chances?Comment -

#1748watching a typical WTA match is the torture equivalent of being forced to watch/listen to that 20x or 30x in succession (depending if it be a 2- or a 3-setter)...throw in a pre-match wager and the agony is magnified...enhance with the live/in-play betting "facility" and suicide becomes the only escape...
About 200 years ago, Ben Franklin said that "beer is living proof that there's a god and he wants us to be happy". If he were alive today he'd use the easy-availability of betting on WTA and video-streaming as proof that God has definitely re-thought this earlier attitude toward our species.Last edited by fitguy67; 08-13-13, 09:46 AM.Comment -
