Play #40: [Switzerland Super League] FC Sion vs. Aarau OVER 2.5 (-129) Four matches into the Super League season and Sion's matches find goals aplenty. All four have gone to at least three goal totals. At home, they've scored four and conceded 3 in two matches. Overall, 8 goals scored for Sion in four matches while conceding 7. Aarau's 4 matches in league play have found 3 goal totals in 3 of 4. In two road matches, they've yielded 6 goals while scoring 2. In their last three matches, Aarau has yielded 9 goals (2, 3 & 4). At this early point of the season, this match pits the 2nd best scoring team in the league against the squad that has conceded the most goals in Super League play.
Supposed to be a lot of rain for this match, so you might tread a little lightly if weather scares you.

Play #41: [Ireland Eircom Premier] Sligo Rovers vs. Dundalk OVER 2 (-119) These two clubs played a pair of matches earlier in the season with both totals hitting at least 2 & the game at Sligo going to 4 goals. Both teams are more of the giving type defensively as Sligo yields 1.35 goals per match at home, while Dundalk gives up 1.45 per road match. Dundalk averages just over a goal on the road, while Sligo averages just under a goal at home. 5 of the last 6 Sligo home matches have hit at least 2 goals & 10 of their last 12 overall have done the same. Dundalk's road tilts have gone to 2 goals or more in 5 of 6 and 7 of their last 9. Neither squad is a goal scoring machine, but they have shown they can score against leaky defenses which has been a problem for both clubs at times. 15 of Sligo's 22 League matches have hit 2 goals or more this season. Dundalk has gone to 2 or more in 14 of 22. Dundalk has also allowed the 2nd most goals on the road in the league with 16 in 11 matches. Sligo has allowed 15 at home, 3rd worst in the league. I'm siding with shotty defense letting in at least 2 goals in this one and getting out with no worse than a push.

Wow great hit. Wish they could have shared some goals with the first match. I was lucky enough to only take the first one and miss the second one. That's how my life works.

Fortunately I have loaded up on the last two winners because I thought getting the push was going to be the least you'd get with both matches. Helped recover some of the losses on the others!

Play #42: [MLS] Real Salt Lake vs. Seattle OVER 2.5 (-111) Salt Lake's home matches are a breeding ground for goals, averaging 3.56 goals per home contest - best in MLS. RSL averages over 2.5 goals by themselves on home turf. They also yield a bit over 1 goal per match. Seattle has had some issues scoring away from home, averaging just 0.88 goals per road match. They do concede an average of 1.5 goals per road match and they were thrashed for 4 goals on the road against San Jose last time out and Barcelona lit them up for 4 in a friendly match mid-week. RSL has played 9 home matches this season and has scored less than 2 goals just 3 times. They have just two clean sheets at home. The two squads played to a two goal total, 2-0 in favor of Seattle in Seattle earlier this season. I think if Seattle can score, this one should get done - even if they don't, Salt Lake could do the job themselves if they can stick the ball in net. Last match, they had 16 shots & no goals.

Looking again like stringing wins together is going to be a no-go with Salt Lake scoreless at the half. One more though to cap the day off, hopefully with a big win.
Play #43: [International Friendly] Guadalajara Chivas vs. FC Barcelona OVER 3.5 (+103) The big boys from Barca conclude their US swing tonight in San Francisco against the Mexican Primera Division squad. Barca has now scored 10 goals in their last 3 matches, 4 each in 2 of them including their trouncing of Seattle this week. Chivas has been leaking goals to start their latest leg of the Mexican season, giving up 7 goals in 2 matches while scoring 5. No telling how long Barca will stick with their big guns or which ones get the nod, but as shown against Seattle ... it shouldn't matter. Barcelona is capable of getting all four needed here to get the over done, but hopefully the Mexican side can score here to make sure this is never in doubt. These two squads met in a friendly in 2008 with 7 goals scored on that day. The faces may have changed, but if anything Barca could be even BETTER now.

Price is dropping on the over. Barca is starting Messi, but pairing with young strikers Bojan Krkic & Pedro Rodriguez. Over 3.5 is now at +101 at my shop. Going to watch the price and wait. Might be a chance to get the total at 3 goals if people keep hammering the under as it appears now.

No goals with about 10 minutes left in the 1st half. Don't see 4 goals with the 2nd or 3rd units in there in the 2nd half. Took my shot, failed miserably. With the way today has gone, I'm just gonna chalk up a loss on the Barcelona match early and move on.

Play #44: [Denmark Super League] Aarhus vs. HB Koge OVER 3 (-115) Still early in the Super League season, but through just a trio of matches - one thing is already standing out. Koge is yielding goals at an alarming rate, 13 goals in 3 matches - 12 in their last two. Aarhus has scored 7 times in their 3 matches and have given up four goals in their last two. Seems likely that Aarhus might do all of the damage themselves to at least get a push and if Koge gets one in net, then you have to like this one even more to clear 3 goals and more.

Play #45: [Finland Veikkausliiga] TPS Turku vs. Inter Turku UNDER 2.5 (-117) Inter hadn't scored more than one goal in four straight matches before blasting out four goals against the worst defense in Veikkausliiga in a 4-0 win over Rovaniemi. On the road, 7 of Inter's 8 matches have hit for 2 goals or less. Inter has been kept off the scoresheet in half of their road tilts. 4 of the last 5 for TPS have hit 2 goals or under. At home, 4 of the last 6 have hit under for TPS Turku. This match features 2 of the Top 4 stingiest defenses in the league. TPS is allowing less than a goal per home match, while Inter is scoring less than one goal per road match. These two have met twice in the Spring, once in league play and the other in league cup action - both ended with totals of 2 goals.

With the way this week had gone, I was just waiting for a goal to slip in during injury time in the Finnish game. Will definitely take a push in that first one Roag. Looking at some afternoon plays, should have some decisions made shortly. Really would like to close out this week with a string of wins!

Play #46: [Iceland Landsbankadeild Karla] Throttur Reykjavik vs. Grindavik OVER 3 (-109) Two of the worst defenses in the league meet in this one. Throttur leads Iceland's top league having conceded 37 goals in just 15 matches. Grindavik has the 3rd worst goals against, allowing 28 to this point. Throttur's last 11 matches have all gone to at least 3 goals. Grindavik has seen 4 of their 6 road matches go to at least 3 goals or more. At home, Throttur is averaging just over 1.4 goals per match. They come in off one of their best scoring matches in a bit, 3 goals on the road against Fjolnir Reykjavik, another leaky defense. In their last 5 at home, Throttur has scored 9 goals - including a pair of multiple goal games in that stretch. Throttur has shown the ability to score against weaker defenses, having scored 7 goals in a pair of games against the two of the bottom 4 defenses. When these two squads met in May at Grindavik, the final tally was 2-1 Grindavik. With both teams conceding an average of 2 goals or more per match in league play and Throttur's run of matches with 3 goal totals or more, this should be good for a push at worst. I'm siding in favor of bad defenses letting in goals even if the offenses aren't exactly top notch.

I didn't ever look at these Iceland matches, but one of the soccer big boys on this forum played some once and I payed some attention to the league. There's a lot of goals scored in most of their matches, so if you can find the right match-up .. they're usually pretty solid.

Play #47: [Brazil Serie A] Sao Paulo vs. Goais OVER 2.5/3 (+101) Two red hot squads meeting here. Goais has gone to totals over at least 3 goals in 6 of 8 road matches this season. On the road in Serie A play, they are averaging 2.38 goals scored, while conceding 1.25. Sao Paulo has seen totals hit 3 or more in 6 of 8 at home this season. They average 2.13 goals per home match, while yielding 1 goal per contest. Overall, Sao Paulo's last five have hit a total of 3 on 4 occassions. They have scored 10 goals in that span and let in 5. In their last 5, Goais has tallied 11 and conceded 4. Goais has only one clean sheet on the road, so Sao Paulo in current form is likely to put up a couple goals. Sao Paulo has failed to keep a clean sheet in four straight at home, so Goais should have chances to score and they are the 2nd best scoring outfit in the league. Think this one should get to 3 and at least yield a half stakes win, outside shot that a 4th goal could do it all with the quality each team possesses.

Not sure. I think the under if you have a decent price at 2.5 is probably the best option. It's in Houston, always hot & humid conditions which Chicago is not used to most likely. Chicago is a really good road club though. I was thinking 1-0, 1-1 final ... but not sure who I'd favor. Looks like I should have quit with the last match. Nothing happening in this one as half time approaches.

I think the under at 2.5 is the best play for this match. Houston is going to be missing some of its best players & Chicago has scored one goal in two matches since their leading scorer got hurt. I have a funky feeling this one could end in a draw.
