the spurs are killing the clock and for some strange reason leonard commits an offensive foul and then all he needs is one free throw. the dude was just mvp of the finals and he chokes on some free throws? lmao

lol... can't count Finals when LeBron was just a kid.

it was him alone, no other All-Star(s)

vs. a loaded top to bottom Spurs team that was 10 years younger.

Barkley was bang on with Spurs up a half-dozen with only a half-minute to go...advocating "fouling 100% of the time" to guarantee that the opposing team has insufficient time to level the score...then what happens...

bang! almost an exact replay of 6th game 2013 final when Pops stubbornness on this point literally gave the championship away (again to a Lebron-quarterbacked team)...i got burned badly then...but this time, I positioned myself nicely with small-stake/hi-pop live ML's (which i didn't really think had a snowball's chance at the time...but i honestly WAS thinking of/praying for a repeat of that debacle)...

miracles are a hell of a lot easier to pull off for the team down points with a dwindling clock if the guyz in front refuse to step on the neck of the team desperately running out of time...smh at pops...and he'll do the same thing the next time he's lucky enough to have a 2-possession lead with one shot-clock's worth of time in a crucial game...stubborn old coot

    agree with first sentence

    disagree with second
see post #49 above...that same fluke has happened before and will happen again as long as that much-beloved but stubborn-as-hell old fart runs the team...not doing what he knows he should do in the closing seconds as "disaster insurance" during the dying seconds of an important game they're leading by more than 3pts...simply cuz it's "not his style" is like refusing to "shoulder check" when changing lanes...get away with it most of the time...but you pay the price big-time when it backfires...

the same fluke cost the spurs the 2012 championship...don't believe me...look at the last 35 seconds of 2012 game 6 (while they were wheeling the trophy out to his boys!)...5 point lead then...6 points last night...everything else damn-near identical

I had accumulated, by the time Ray Allen hit that three in that game 6, a huge position in San Antonio. I also had futures and parlays. I too was burned in that game. The beat was bad. It wasn't so much that I lost money, it was what I didn't win that hurt me. I had a lot of leverage.
