Here's another one from 1989. This is my favorite Tom Hanks movie, but only my 2nd favorite Corey Feldman movie. Imagine that. I used to watch this one around once a week at the video store. Very underrated. So MANY hilarious characters.

The Burbs is a classic, I always watch it around Halloween.

I remember putting in the movie below once and the Manager made some wise crack about how terrible it was. Fukk her! And Rotten Tomatoes! I like this movie! It's from 1989... so it makes the cut.

I just stumbled across this. I definitely agree!

I’ve seriously seen this movie probably over 100 times. All three of them honestly but there’s something so delightfully terrible about this one. Terry Silver coming back for Cobra Kai damn near brought a tear to my eye.

And it’s definitely the 80s, there’s actually a line where Daniel-San says “this is the 80s, can’t be so damn passive!” Even when I was a child watching that I was like, bro it’s 1989 that ain’t gonna age well. It sticks out every time I watch it

And Burbs is a total classic. That and Joe Vs The Volcano are a couple of weirder older Hanks movies that I really like

My favorite line of the burbs is where Carrie Fisher and Hanks are on the second story deck and to his buddies down below she goes “he’s not coming down until he resembles the man I married” and Rick Ducommun goes “Carol we don’t have that kind of time.” That and when Ducommun is like “satan is good, satan is lord, satan is our pal” or whatever it is. What a great movie that is, great call

Moonstruck was pretty funny and so was Raising Arizona back in the 80's with Nicolas Cage.

Honeymoon in Las Vegas was an instant classic but that was released in 1992

Being a diehard Atlanta Braves fan growing up (mainly because I could watch all of the Braves games on TBS) it was a big thrill seeing Bob Horner become only the 11th player in MLB history (at that time) to hit 4 HR in one game against the former and defunct Montreal Expos (now the Washington Nationals)!...thanks to the steroid era, all of those sacred accomplishments became obsolete during the 90's-early 00's. but getting back to Horner, only wore one batting glove. old school chunky player with a pot belly! but what a sweet, short batting swing he had. all wrists and arms. no exaggerated movements and no wasted fluid motions. It was a thing of beauty.

Their first 4 albums are definitely my favorite of their work. Here's an under appreciated song from 1988. Anyone know what the first 12 seconds is from?

In case anyone was wondering, the first 12 seconds of the song above is from the 1982 movie Blade Runner. Great movie btw!

Look, I may not have the encyclopedic knowledge of some when it comes to the history of film and cinema, but that's no reason to call me an ass. Speaking of growing up a bit, perhaps you should start with the man in the mirror.

As a teen in the 80s I genuinely thought it was a decade so bad in terms of fashion and music nothing would ever be revived or thought about with nostalgic fondness.
