#1193just want to understand you used say USD or a bank account to but into Tether?
or did you trade a cyrpto like BTC to tether or protect your price (based on the USD) ?
as I understand tether does not really move in price. its 1.0: 1.0 to the USD stays 1:1 or very close to that.
but it moves in ratio to the value of whatever Crypto your trading it for as they go up and down.Comment -

#1199tether has some web site, it sort of seems you can link accounts or something to put real USD and get tether crypto in a wallet. then I suppose you could move it to an exchange for trading? is that true?

#1207Is Bitstamp as slow at deposits as Coinbase? I tried to deposit onto Gdax (the Coinbase exchange), and they said a deposit would take 2-4 days to process. And it's been 4 full business days and still no money in my account. Still says pending. It's already been taking out of my bank account on my side. I hate this shit. I don't understand it.
I'm pretty Coinbase delays this because they want you to buy the Bitcoins directly from them, so if you wanted you could buy at the price they are offering, and even it would take a week to clear you'd still have the Bitcoins at the price you bought them at. But the exchange there's no fee, so I want to just deposit to Gdax directly and buy them off the exchange at the price I want to get with no mark up fee. But when it takes 2-4 days to get those funds in your account to trade, and the market is going crazy, you miss out on the price that you want to buy at.
It's ridiculous. I have a TD Ameritrade account. It doesn't take 2-4 days to process any deposit. I link my bank account, transfer immediately, and the funds are ready to trade immediately.Comment -

If you choose to deposit with ACH it takes 5 business days for the Automated Clearance House to guarantee the payment. It tells you there somewhere if you look.
Same for Gemini.com as well as those two.
Coinbase have announced they plan to offer instant ACH deposits at some stage. I believe they are ramping up the level of ID needed to help them manage that.
If you want faster account funding you can usually choose a wire which goes in over night.
Or use Bitstamp card purchase if its for a larger amount..Comment -

#1215Gdax is ridiculous. When I went to do a bank account transfer, it said bank account transfers would take 2-4 days. Now it says:
"Bank account transfers are typically credited to your GDAX account in 3-5 business days, but may take up to 7-10 calendar days. You may see the funds immediately debited from your bank account when you initiate the transfer, but they will not appear in your GDAX account until the transfer is complete."
Absolute horseshit. 7-10 days for a bank account transfer are you fckn kidding me?
I'm never buying on GDAX again. Bitstamp or Gemini for me.Comment -

#1219Coinbase/Gdax are great for some things but not depositing USD. Use Itbit. Itbit only deals with USD and BTC but they process bank wires very quickly. If I send a wire from my bank at 9am it'll be in my itbit account ready to use by 11am.

Bank account transfer should be instant too I don't know why it wouldn't be. You aren't using an ACH debit card. It's bank account and router number to your account.Comment -

#1224What's the best place to buy bitcoin via plastic, any cheaper than Coinbase 4% fee?
Does anyone utilize their plastic available credit to invest, then withdraw monthly to pay your cc bill?
Despite the fees, it seems you would still profit most months.Comment -
