Good hit on the under. I bet only the 2H. Seems like this season, the 2H under is a bit safer than the game under, as guys lose their legs a bit in the 2nd half. Haven't run the numbers or anything, but just seem to notice this a lot. Thoughts?

Can't believe Suns got beat on home court by Rockets bench. Would've been a blowout win for Rockets if their starters contributed a bit more.

M11: I have thought a lot about this. Even more so I have begun to realize that this exact NBA season is a handicappers season. I think as the pace of the number of games per night continues we are going to see an increase in injuries and fatigue. This could lead to some great under opportunities late in the season.

But the books will soon figure this out too and begin to put out total lines in the 160's if they get the same sense. That would suck. Cat and mouse game for sure.

I think good handicappers can find real value this season because of the insane travel and b2b schedules we will continue to see.

Still time for Phoenix, but not bloody likely. Chumps are playing as if they are the ones in the fatigue spot. What a disappointment after getting that lead in the third quarter.

Rockets have one of the stronger benches in the league. But that's kinda ridiculous. Still, if you've ever watched Phoenix when Nash isn't on the floor... it's not pretty. Houston obviously realized this, as Nash was +12, but they attacked hard whenever he was resting.

I think capping the benches is more important than ever this season. Teams that go 8+ deep like Houston, Philly, Indy, OKC (Harden counts as 3 bench players), Jazz, etc are overachieving this year.

I was on the over 177½ (placed my bet very early yesterday) myself but, like you say sometimes, I do feel pretty good about the bet I made even though I lost. I mean, only 33 points in the fourth quarter and to top that only 11 in OT. Ugh.

Pinny is juicing the under pretty heavy here at 199.5 all the way at -123 and my local is posting 198.5. I'm going to gamble a little bit here and lock this is now because I expect some over money to hit tomorrow morning. I have this game set at 202.5 and I expect a closer at 200 or more. We have two teams that rank top 10 in PACE and have a nice history of playing fast paced, high scoring games. Miami is a juggernaut, but is playing a 3 in 4, although they are coming off a day of rest. Nevertheless, after losing to Orlando with a mediocre offensive performance, I expect Miami to come out running and looking to really run up the score. However, Washington will be motivated for this game and generally plays the upper echelon teams competitively, only to concede in the end. If you look at some of the scores against other top level and/or big name teams, you will see a correlation with the over: (i) against Orlando 212 points; (ii) against NY 200 and 195; (iii) Houston, Denver, OKC all between 207 and 220 points; (iv) against Boston 194 and 192; etc. It seems that Washington gets a little extra motivated to ramp up their scoring against the better teams, but there defense is so porous that they can't stop anyone and these games end up on the higher scoring side. In this game, I expect Wall to come motivated against the Heat and Wittman wants to play more up-tempo, so I think Wall ends up pushing the pace more and more. I would not be surprised to see the Heat score 110 or more in this one as my model has the Heat at 108.7 and the Wiz at 94.1. However, those numbers are based on the stats alone and when you look at some of the common motivational factors, I think both teams could eclipse those numbers. The Heat might just be fatigued enough to slack a little bit on defense so they can really rack up the points on offense. As I mentioned above, I have this game set at 202.5 and I'm rolling with the over for 1x. Good luck.

Tough one for sure. Shows the importance of getting the best number and beating the closer. The closing number of 173 or 174 would have cashed for you had you waited on that one.

That's the beauty of it though, win or lose we get to do it again tomorrow. Good luck.
