Tough beat on the Philly total LTA, good luck with Tuesday's picks. They've been a nightmare team for totals this year. I had a small play on the over, but it was purely a speculation that it would squeak past 180.
I know futures bets are sucker plays in general but considering a bet on the 76ers to win the championship at 29/1. They should at least get to the conference semis this year. This compressed season will keep grinding players out & who knows if all the public favourite/elite teams will hit the playoffs intact.Comment -

The game opened at 208, went down to 207.5, shot up to 211 and closed at 210.5. I beat the Pinny closer by 3 full points and got the best possible number on the over. Other than some last minute inconsequential 1/2 point buyback by middlers, that movement was solid in favor of the over. Regardless, I liked the over so the line movement is immaterial to me. I only use line movement to guage +ev of a play and by beating the Pinny closer by 3 points I more than accomplished my +ev goal. I dont base my plays on line movement alone because that is only a 50/50 proposition. I base my plays on quantitative factors and qualitative factors used together. Line movement is but one qualitative factor I use. In this case, I got the best available number and beat the pinny closer by 3 points. Cant get more +ev than that and I am very satisfied with that play regardless of outcome.Comment -

I never made any excuses, I simply stated that the over was a +ev play at the number I got (207.5). That's not my opinion, that is math. Go ahead and do the calculation yourself. My model set the total at 211, I bet it at 207.5 and it closed at 210.5. Those are all the factors you need for an expected value calculation, so knock yourself out. As you know, as long as we are making +ev plays, we will have long term success. Just because a play doesnt cash, doesnt make it a bad play.
