So what's slowing the HBO deal?
UFC President Dana White has been talking about getting his organization on HBO since last winter, but with summer coming to an end, there is still no deal in place, but White insists it will still happen, and will be in place for a winter card.
So what's the problem?
"I'm probably the problem, to be honest with you," he said. "It's probably me. But it'll be done before the end of the year, I guarantee that."
The sticking point of the deal has had to do with production of the show.
While many thought the departure of HBO CEO Chris Albrecht would put a kibosh on the deal, negotiations have continued with Ross Greenburg (president of HBO sports) recently telling Newsday that the company is "intrigued" and believes the company will be able to draw audiences for both boxing and MMA.
