#1794Surprised on how well Wang is pitching tonight. I successfully faded Wang his first three starts and cashed, and then wisely held off until tonight as he has really improved. However, because the Reds just played him a week ago, I thought they would know what to expect and crush him at home.Comment -

#1795Wonder if we'll get any lucky breaks tonight? It sure would be nice to get a comeback winner from the Reds...I know I usually don't get those wins, but they are supposed to even out right?Comment -

Play #1
Marlins/Phillies under (7.5)(-115) 2x (Locked)
Even though Sanchez has struggled of late and against the Phils in the past, I expect him to be on point against Halladay. Sanchez is a bit of a mystery in that he has not enjoyed greater success, although much of that can be attributed to his team. With FIP, xFIP, tERA and SIERA in the low 3's, K% over 24% and GB/FB of 1.22, he will not be outdone by many. He does have a tendency to give up a few too many home runs, but with the hurricane bearing down on the east coast, the wind will be coming out of the ENE, which is basically in from right field. On the other side, there are none better than Halladay who ranks top 5 across the board in most stats. From his FIP, xFIP, tERA and SIERA in the mid to low 2's, to his K% at 24% and GB/FB at 1.66. Unlike Sanchez, Halladay has dominated the Marlins lineup in the past. The ump is O'Nora, who has no lean throughout his history but always rocks a strike rate in the 63.5% range. With the superior starting pitchers, the wind blowing in, a decent ump for the under and the fact that these players are human and are going to want to get this game over quick, I am rolling with the under for 2x. I expect this one to both possibly drop to 7 at some point but the possibility of a rainout looms large...good luck.Comment -

White Sox ML (-105) 1x (Locked)
No need for a big writeup here, the Mariners are the worst team in baseball against lefties both hitting and record wise and Danks is pitching well right now for a team that must continue to win to keep up with the Tigers in the playoff race. Pineda has never approached these many innings and is getting tired. Plus, the Sox already faced Pineda so there is no unfamiliarity factor working in his favor. I like the Sox to win tonight and I'm backing them for 1x. Good luck.Last edited by Love The Action; 08-27-11, 09:20 AM.Comment -

#1809Nope...that was the second game of the originally scheduled double header. The first game is officially still "on", however, that can always be changed as we get closer to game time.
As I stated in my writeup, there is a huge chance for rain today. However, both pitchers are durable veterans that I have personal experience seeing them both come back successful after rain delays. Plus, with the hurricane coming, I don't think they will start this game unless they are sure they can get it in without too many delays. Everyone is going to want to get the hell out of there as soon as possible. The wind is currently blowing in from right field at about 12mpp and climbing.
I would like this play even without the hurricane angle, so don't read too much into that. This one is all about the pitching matchup. Plus, I found some interesting articles about and quotes from Sanchez which state that he loves going against Halladay and is always extra motivated and prepared to do so. Let me know if you guys want some links.
Good luck...I may add to that play and make it my biggest in awhile....Comment -

#1811MLB Recap 8/26/11
2 - 2 - 1 = -0.1x
MLB Season 2011
360 - 330 = +23.86x
We get easy winners with the under in Cleveland and Arizona just as we expected, but Texas blew out the Angels in what turned out to be a poor call by me and we just couldn't get over the 8 run hump in LA as the Dodgers win 6-1 causing us to lose by a 1/2 run with only 7 runs being scored. With the balk and homers, you would think Colorado would have scored one more run to give us 8. However, we just have not been getting those type of breaks that you need to win and that is the primary reason we have struggled of late. I feel like the call was right on, but we lose by the hook. All that is in the past now and Saturday is upon us, time to make some money this weekend! I really like the Philly under today if we can get the game in and the White Sox to win. Will have more plays posted later. Good luck!Comment -

#1812Really thinking about playing the under in that White Sox/Mariners game as well and then also adding a quarter unit or so in a correlated parlay on the under. With Quentin out of the Sox lineup that hurts their home run chances (even though they are 3-1 o/u in the game he missed so far) and hurts Konerko's protection. The Sox should win, but I expect a 3-1, 3-2, 4-2 type game tonight. Similar to last night. I need to think about this....Comment -

#1813Red Sox will roll today in the early game against Moscoso, but I'm not going to risk -290 juice (yes, the best I can do from either local right now is -290) to play it. For better or worse, I cannot play any baseball game at -300 range juice. There are just too many variables.Comment -

#1817No play for me. It's too hard to bet against Niemann, who has been the best pitcher in baseball since the all star break. At the same time, he has thrown over 110 pitches in five straight games and 7 of the last 8. He has never had a stretch that like that in his entire career. With that said, he is a guy in the prime of his life in his late 20's and should be able to handle that workload. TB are big public faves and shot up from -102 to -123 on Pinny, never once dipping back down. That tells me the money has been steadily coming in on TB from both sharp and public money.
On the other hand, Toronto is at home with the better offense and a pitcher who almost threw a no hitter last time out against the A's. I was on the over in that game and was surprised at how well Perez hit. With that said, TB is 8th in MLB in OPS against lefties and Perez was a reliever before his last start, so there is the possibility that TB gets to him early and forces in the Toronto bullpen. In which case, you have to assume Niemann rolls to a rather easy victory.
For me, there are too many variables in this one and it's more of a coinflip as I don't see a clear edge. Good luck in whatever you choose.Comment -
