(2x) redsox -130 - shields has given up 24er in 21ip last 5 visits to fenway. the rays are 0-5 in those games. buchholz has hosted the rays twice and the sox are 2-0 in those games with buchholz giving up 2er in 12ip.

(1x) a's -150 - duchscherer bounced back in a big way in his 2nd start since missing all of 2009. he has a whip of 1.00 through 2 games and beat the o's at home in 2008 giving up 2 er in 7ip. guthrie has not faired well in oakland the last 2 seasons giving up 10er in 6ip. the o's lost both of those games.

i use both but for different reasons however whip gets far more weight in my formulas. it is a bigger indication of impending doom that a low era can hide.

paying attention this year to bullpens with actual stats. i always knew in the back of my head what teams had "good" closers etc....since i bet full games only and most pitchers dont go past 6-7 innings anymore, this data is a must..bookmark this shit if you're a self capper...
