I'll write this up completely later today...but to give brief thoughts... This # seems TOO far off. LAD bats back at home against a RHP that is vulnerable in Jimmy Nelson...especially on the ROAD...4.97 ERA, 30 ER and a shocking 26 WALKS in approx. 54 innings...
Mike Bolsinger hasn't been great and the MIL bats are STILL hot... #3 offensively over the last week. Bolsinger is 0-2 with a 5.21 ERA in his last 4 starts and 5 of his L7 starts have gone OVER the total. MORE later...Comment -

I know ALL about the %s and it's exactly why I'm refusing to back the Reds on the moneyline tonight...despite some STRONG indicators that show Cincy winning tonight having a SP edge AND an edge with the bullpens... The Marlins are starting David Phelps tonight and most haven't even realized that they REMOVED him from the starting rotation...which is a clear sign of lack of confidence in him starting games...and his most recent performance against this CIN lineup are evidence of that.
Just a few weeks back (6/21), Phelps was pounded for 8 hits and 5 ER over just 5.2 IP against this same Reds offense and in re-watching that game...CIN loved his stuff and they were "on" his pitches really quickly. He also walked 2 batters and allowed 2 HRs. The Marlins RH hasn't started a game SINCE and will take the hill tonight. Following him...the #17 ranked Marlins bullpen that doesn't scare me much at all...and are faith ally BOTTOM 10 when it comes to batting AVG against at .250.
Paying the TEAM TOTAL here without worry of Leake's start and the up/down Reds relievers... At 3.5... I love that 4 runs makes us winners.Comment -

This number opened up at 9.5 overnight and I away really confident it would fall...simply because 9.5 is a TYPICAL # syndicates and sharp groups will snatch up SOLELY because of that 3/10 chance that these teams don't hit...in the REAL WORLD I live in though...when factoring in the full 360* handicap (all-angles)....I couldn't find anything working against us here...other than a WIND blowing IN and so I'm confident in this getting OVER...knowing how much people overvalue something as simple as wind.
Ian Kennedy gets the call for SD tonight and it is PERFECT HITTING WEATHER...HOT...thin air...GOOD news. 90* at first pitchComment -

Only TIME will tell as to WTF was going on with the line movement this afternoon...but to give you my thoughts/explanation...we must ALWAYS think about "what is the public $ doing". Well...it's certainly not backing Ervin Santana and the unpopular TWINS...I can assure you that. The Tigers are ONE OF "America's teams" from a wagering standpoint...especially with HOW they've been swinging the bats.
Ervin Santana is just off the DL...but I couldn't tell as he hit his "spots" and commanded his stuff well...allowing just 2 ER on 3 hits against THE ROYALS.... The POLAR OPPOSITE can be said of Mr Justin Verlander...who's been nothing short of a $20M DISASTER.
Verlander is ALSO off the DL...and he's stunk. 4 starts, 6.75 ERA, 1.59 WHIP (wow)... He's off a 7 ER performance against the Blue Jays and if you think the TWINS can't do the same...you're 100% mistaken... especially AT home in Target Field. He's walked 10 batters over just 17.2 innings and it shouldn't get any easier tonight.
Bullpens to ME are similar and while MIN relievers concern me LATE in the game...I think we could get a BIG output early on...Comment -

Just some BRIEF thoughts on Friday with MUCH work to be done on the remainder of the card... This # seems TOO FAR off. The Dodger bats back at HOME against a RH starter that is more than vulnerable in MIL's Jimmy Nelson...especially on the ROAD...
54 IP, 4.97 ERA, 30 ER and a shocking 26 WALKS...so without stating the obvious, I'm expecting Nelson to continue to struggle commanding his pitches tonight at Dodger Stadium.

WELL aware of the Phillies getting BLANKED over the L2 games but let's not ignore the -400 price on Kershaw and the -300 price on Greinke...who's now thrown OVER 30 scoreless innings and is likely NOT human....so why ONLY the -150 price on Madison Bumgarner???? Maybe because the 'books expect some Phillies offense tonight...against a guy they've already HAMMERED this year.
MadBum threw 8 innings earlier this year, allowing 6 hits and 5 ER...+ 2 HR...while still striking out 11. The point is Philly actually LIKES his "stuff" and I expect the lineup loaded with RH bats to get some runs tonight...there's a reason he's only 8-5 this year.
The Phils start ACE (not much longer) Cole Hamels and the trade winds are a BLOWING. He's only 5-6 and his ERA is over 3.00...so it's NOT vintage Cole despite him "showing up" now and then. The Giants bats have fared well though hitting .318 against him over his career and with Posey AND pence in the lineup... This game gets OVER 6...with potentially some help from the horrendous PHI bullpen.Comment -

The Blue Jays have been pathetic and that's exactly what the 'books WANT us to think here...but after digging in and doing the work, this game looks SOLID in the favor of the road team...despite scoring 0 over the last 2 nights. It's Mark Buehrle vs. Chris Young...two older guys that have more than a few starts under their belts...but they're BOTH going in opposite directions....and I'm backing the guy on the upswing rather than the KC starter, Chris Young, who's already seen his BEST days this year and has struggled of late. Young was DOMINANT with a sub-1.00 ERA for much of the 1st half...but his last 7 starts have shown SERIOUS regression...4.24 ERA...36 hits, 11 walks, and 19 earned runs while going just 3-3 over that span...a drastic change from the first 2 months of the season.
Buehrle has been VERY solid of late...over HIS last 7 games...3-1 while allowing JUST 8 runs over his last 51 innings pitched!!! That's good for a 1.41 ERA and it's hilarious to NOT see him getting much respect for it. Chris Young has seen more pitches UP in the zone of late and for a dangerous TOR club that thrives with the high stuff...I think they get back on the scoring path today. I can't see a short-handed KC lineup "keeping up" here... Let's just hope we don't get a close game heading into the bullpen time...we all know how that could go with KC's 'pen and the Jays relievers on the road...

ALL about perception AND price here and with LA looking really good offensively of late, the books pushed out SEA as the favorite...which makes little to no sense. Hisashi Iwakuma is FRESH off a long sting on the DL and the Tigers quickly gave me confidence in FADING him again here today...as I think something could be "wrong" with him...and I'm not alone in that sentiment. Some will look at Iwakuma's "history" against LA (6-2, 3.80 ERA) and overvalue it...as he dominated early in his career...but has since been figured out... (See: 9 hits, 5 R outing in APR '15 as evidence of how LA has turned the tables.)
Off the DL, I think Iwakuma could be in for an even WORSE performance with him struggling AND the Angels absolutely RAKING thanks to phenom Mike Trout.
CJ Wilson is obviously a concern...but his recent #s are skewed by ONE really bad outing and his track-record vs. SEA is VERY good...as he's only allowed 13 hits and 3 runs over his last 20 innings against them. The M's offense is anemic right now and I don't see SEA keeping up tonight... SP edge AND the bullpen edgeComment -

You guys know where I've stood on this series and with the LACK of success, PASSING isn't a BAD idea...but when I dug into this game, the "wrong team" is favored and I'm expecting ATL to salvage the final game of this series as they face RHP Chad Bettis for COL. This is a classic RH vs. LH matchup that favors the BRAVES big-time.
For awhile, ATL was a TOP 5 offense in baseball against RHP and it's obvious that losing Freddie Freeman hurts...but he's still just 1 man...and ATL can/has still LIT UP righties as well...and Bettis is a great candidate with the Braves hitting .286 against him AND an ugly home ERA of 5.29. Hitters are doing wel in COL against him too scoring 20 ER with 5 HR and 10 BB over just 34 innings. ATL should get theirs...
The Rockies SUCK against LHP (25th out of 30) though and therein lies the problem with this price (not to mention their overused/shoddy bullpen). The Rockies have hit just 9 HRs against LHP (29th in MLB) and Alex Wood has SHUT THEM DOWN over a limited sample size (3/15 for .200 AVG).
With the Rockies being the WORST bullpen in baseball...I'm taking ATL to salvage SOMETHING before the break...Comment -

I love detroit bullpen lol.. I had minn the game dozier hit that bomb to win bottom of the 9th. I couldn't believe what I was seeing from Detroit closer. Crazy.
