hopefully that come from behind W will be just what the doctored ordered and get us back on track. jj goes today vs johan, whcih is a rematch of an earlier game this season alreayd where the fish won thanks to mr murphy pullin a mr magoo out in left. johan and jj both were dominant in that game and neither team's hitters could get ahold of their stuff. hoepfully jj will show that brillance again today just like he did that last start last friday vs the phils which shoulda been a W and pushed him to 3-0 but our mother fu**n pen blew that and cost him the W. both pitchers have dominated the opposing team in their career:

-jj is 5-0 with a 1.59 career era vs the mets
-johan has also pitched great vs the fish in that past sporting a 4-1 record and a 1.79 era with 45 k's in his 36 career innings vs the fish.

with this said i expect a low scoring affair today, especially with the early first pitch time after a night game plus i think the fish can ride jj to hopefully a W and come into chicago on a 2 game winning streak
hanley is still probable but most liekly will sit again today and should be back AT THE LATEST friday but look for him in the lineup thursday in CHI-TOWN

MONSTER series coming up for both teams. the fish are coming off 2 good wins vs the mets while the cubs come in struggling and can't wait to get back to the friendly confines. in this 4 game set the fish send volstad, the rookie taylor, annibal, and the ace, ricky, while the cubs have marshall, harden, lilly and big z. last year was the first time ever i missed the fish-cubs series in chitown and that will be the case again due to stupid school but am still puling for em as if im sitting in that 1st row behind the fish pen.

volstad-marshal: volstad is 2-0 with a 2.70 era and is coming off a no decision vs the phils where he pitched great other than 2 solo shots he gave up, one was to chan ho park......he also had 6k's and only 1 walk. in his young career vs the cubs, he's given up four runs in 12 innings, earning two no-decisions last year. marshall on the other hand is 0-1 with a 4.50 era and is coming off a decet start vs the cards last week but got a no decision. He's 1-3 with a 4.38 ERA in his career against the marlins.

with everything said, the fish bats have come back to life, and mr cantu CANDO lately and cody ross has also awaken a little and overall they seem to have shaken off that HORRFIC 7 game skid. the cubs come in with a lineup in disarray given the mass injuries and lack of production in the lower half of the order, so they are due to get back in the groove but hopefully that will happen sunday night once the fish are back on the road.
with that all said, the fish have played very well in the past vs the cubs both in florida and in chitown, thus i think a bet on the fish to win the series is also a good option given at worst you should split, but 3-1 record can be obtained but it will be hard given a rookie faces harden and nolasco has STILL yet to throw his gem.

we seem to always play pretty well in coors, atleast we put up a decent number thus it all depends on if our decimated staff can atleast hold the rockies to only a few. for ths series though, the fish can not ask for anything more, we got ricky, jj, volstad going which makes this series a GREAT OPPORTUNITY to get back into our groove
