The Central-leading Colorado Avalanche visit the division bottom-feeder Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday night, and our Avalanche vs. Blackhawks NHL player props are based on the best NHL odds.

At a glance, Tuesday's matchup between the Colorado Avalanche and Chicago Blackhawks looks like a mismatch on paper, as these teams sit on opposite poles of the Central Division standings. Yet this is the NHL, and just about anything can happen on a given night. 

Chicago fans shouldn't get too overconfident, though, as the Avs have reeled off three wins in their last four contests following a 1-3-2 run. Meanwhile, the Blackhawks have sandwiched two wins with a pair of four-game losing streaks over their last 10 games.

Mikko Rantanen anytime goal (-110 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Mikko Rantanen scored 55 goals last season, with exactly 41 games with at least one goal to his credit (and six out of 41 misses came in the first eight games of the season). That would make his -110 odds at FanDuel to pot one tonight as fair as it gets. But considering the heater he's on at the moment and a favorable matchup to boot, those odds suddenly look much more appealing. 

Rantanen has hit the twine in three of his last four overall, the third time he's gone on such a run in 2023-24. He's yet to have a run with four games with a goal in a five-game stretch this year, but he did that several times last year, including two separate five-game scoring streaks.  

The Avalanche forward has peppered opposing netminders with 37 shots over his last 10 games, and the Blackhawks are sixth-worst in the NHL in shot prevention (32.4 allowed per game). They're also third-worst in goals allowed per game (3.6).

Philipp Kurashev Under 0.5 points (-124 via BetRivers) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Philipp Kurashev has taken far too many zeroes in the points department on a nightly basis not to consider this prop at -124 at BetRivers. Markets on the Blackhawks forward are sparse at our best sports betting apps, so run to this site before the line moves.

His assist when last seen on Sunday was just his fourth game with a point this month (nine games), and 12th out of 24 total tilts this year. If you erase his five-game point streak from Nov. 16 to Nov. 24, the hit rate on the Under increases from 50% to 63%. 

Kurashev has faced the Avs seven times in his brief career and has found the scoresheet only once in that sample, registering a lone assist on Oct. 12, 2022.

Nick Foligno Over 2.5 shots on goal (+215 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐

It's not all doom and gloom for Chicago tonight. While Connor Bedard might be the only reason for casual fans to tune in for Blackhawks games this year, Nick Foligno is giving bettors a reason to pay attention of late.

Foligno has posted three or more shots on goal in five straight games and six of his last seven overall. He went on a similar run from Nov. 18 to Nov. 26 (four out of five), and had four such games in a row from Oct. 16 to Oct. 24.
