I said earlier that the whole jumping on the hood was a bit overdoing it..but not murder/manslaughter. Whether he fired from the hood or whatever angle...he only fired 15 of the 137 shots...why put HIM specifically on trial was my point. As the judge stated at the verdict...he violated police dept procedure by climbing on the car - which he is being fired for last I heard - but due to the fact he acted along with the others in legally reasonable force at the time and its not clear which bullets killed the two in the car....he walked.
I'm all for drone use in certain situations, no different than police helicopters or planes and even staging officers on a high vantage point to oversee an event....but not armed drones...and they won't ever be for obvious reasons.
I guess I just come down on the side of
common sense....if you're out there doing crime...I hope the police do catch them. A cop's job is to stop criminals and prevent the dangerous ones from harming the rest of us. Go for it. These two were drug addicted criminals who chose to run and then continue once surrounded...of course that wasn't going to end well.
