2014 Fall Fantasy Poker Contest Week 1 lineups
Just like the thread title says...post your 5-player team roster you'll be using for this week.

As a general reminder, you can't use the same active 5-man team another poster has already posted for a week. If you don't make any changes to your week 1 roster by the deadline for changes in subsequent weeks, it'll be assumed that you're keeping the same roster.

Just want to confirm there is a limit of 5 players per week. Was confused by the team limit of up to 10 in the previous thread.

Correct mpasch, can only play 5 players a week. Roster can be up to 10, but can only play 5 (and pricing probably doesn't allow 10, so that's not really an issue). Will likely make some improvements to these rules for future iterations.Originally Posted by mpaschal34

obviously the best buy in the draft, for a couple of reasons. first and foremost, new player karma.... he's getting run over by cards. second, he's a damn good player. three, he's aggressive and these dailies obviously fit his style. and last but not least, jakepeavy called him "his boy"...... I assume he meant the same type of "sbr golden boy" that he is!!!! congrats, kidcudi, on a powerful start that will at least last through this promo.......... (why you're on both my fantasy teams!)

Hey TDB, couple of things I don't get about the contest. You have " -winning most points in a week: 150 point bonus
-winning most points during the contest: 600 point bonus" for the weekly bonus, are you keeping track of every single runners scores. I assume not, that would be crazy. If not unless SBR does weekly update (which maybe they will be). i'm not sure how we'll know. Come to think of it the 40K SBR contest started a week before ours so any update made at the end of this week would be for two weeks. Also how would the most points during the whole contest work out when there's trading. If you have a guy who ends up 1st for half the contest.. how would that work ? I sound very concerned for a fun contest, no biggie at all, just curious
I'm keeping track of every players scores daily...somewhat automated, so it's not as time-consuming as it might seem.
Players score points for their team based on their weekly performances, but only for the times they are on the active roster. For example: if sinmiedo puts up 1000 points week 1 and you trade for him and play him week 2, he only earns you points for week 2 onwards...you get none of his week 1 points, nor does anyone who didn't play him that week. His overall points for the contest do determine if he's the overall MVP though for purposes of 600 point bonus.

So you would only get the 600 point bonus if you had this runner the whole way through. Not that this would happen but if someone traded the best performer after week 3 and someone grabbed him for the last week of contest. The guy who ended up with him doesn't get the bonus ?

The overall MVP gets points on the last day of the contest, so as it currently stands, you'd have to play him the last week to receive the points. In the future, it probably makes more sense to pro-rate it though, awarding a percentage of weeks MVP was played.
Still a lot of kinks to work out for the future...although in the future, I'd like to do a longer, head to head matchup system closer to actual fantasy football. We'll see if I can make it happen in time though.

I agree with the pro rating and the idea above sounds like a lot of fun too. You gotta be a part of whatever the next competition is.
I intend to! Just gotta get the format down first...big problem with running it like a traditional sports league is that it would probably require some custom work to be convenient enough for wide participation, as most fantasy sites and templates are set up to sync with a database of football/baseball/etc players instead of custom-entered players and values. We could always do it manually (live chat for draft or similar), but I'm going to take a stab at some custom code first and see if I can get that working...would really simplify a lot of the coaching and updates.

nice run choas...i had you on my team originally when i thought you could play as many as you could as long as you stayed under 100. however, i took you out and went with the big dogs once i learned you could only play 5 a week.
I just played your first 5 Opti...you were in the lead before this mornings tourney, and now you've probably got weekly mvp locked up
