You're right. I don't think he'll be on the team after this season. Bulls feel Butler is ultimately a 3 and is Deng;s successor and that they would prefer a different fit for a backcourt mate for Rose. Plus some financial flexibility of certain FA's want to join and some $ for Nikola Mirotic to come over. Plus he won't get any younger. Still, he's an excellent layer and he will be sought after.

You're right, very solid 1-5. Bench is pretty darn good too, Taj is one of the best 6th men and can play both 4 and 5 and seems to have taken steps forward in the offseason. Dunleavy is a great addition too and can play 2 or 3. And then Kirk when he's healthy is a pro, can play 1 or 2, great defender. After that, there's some dropoff depending on whether Tague has imrpoved or Snell can contribute as a rookie, but still good depth through 8.

Rose has shown a severe inability to make free throws IN CRUNCH TIME in the past. I'm sure his brother has worked on it with him (not sure if he wants Derrick to make or miss them, depends on where the $$ is) but this season will be over soon enough and this thread will get bumped. Pretty sure Rose will be on the line in some pretty important post season games.

Rose is the offense, everything goes through him. The bulls need more offensive pieces. They will be fine in the regular season, but what about the playoffs. Rose can't get his shot any time he wants, at least he didn't against the heat in the playoffs. If Rose can dominate against the heat in the playoffs, they have than enough offense among the rest of the team. They should be good defensively, rebound, limit turnovers with kirk off the bench. Worst case, I could see Boozer being a disappointment, Rose being shut down by defense, Butler not there on offense, rookies playing poorly.
