    Does anyone win betting NBA?

I really don't see why anyone would bet this market for a living tbh

Do people actually make money betting NBA? If so what kind of ROI are you guys making?

I don't even bet on games with less than 20% returns yet I see people here bet every game thinking there is always a good bet in a game..

seems like there is more edge playing blackjack than betting NBA

    In a word, yes.

Regular season is largely where it's at. By the time the Conference Finals roll around, you should pretty much have packed it in as far as expectations go. At this point, the games are mere entertainment. There should be very light, if any, action. Every one of these games by now are under so much scrutiny, there isn't much edge to be found in the lines.

if you and try and play sides the whole NBA season you will be demolished.. you have to also incorporate totals and the numbers side of things into your picks.

I can say that with great honesty that I was up nicely on the regular season. However I have certainly been down on the last two rounds of the playoffs. I feel like I lost with many other suckers on the Cavs last game.

NBA regular season is where I have made HUGE money with definite edge in my selected games.. I don't play Play-offs as games are totally different than the regular season with no edge whatsoever for the punters..
Waiting for next season to begin in October.. Cheers!

I had a nice profit as well but lost a huge chunk in the playoffs. I packed it up when Miami got beat by Toronto. Shit cost me 400 bucks. I'm still new to this as its only my first year betting nba and I've learned a lot. I'm getting ready for November.

Regular season spot betting and playoff series bets is how it's done. Every playoff year could be different sometimes the underdog is worth a shot most of the time they are not.

Don't listen to this guy. This the same guy that swore up and down Curry and the pissy Warriors were gonna get it in versus Okc.

How much edge do you look for before betting?

In my market there are plenty of times where a bookie makes a side the underdog where they should have been the favourite.

Has there ever been a team in NBA that started in the + region where they should have been in - region?

There are a minimum of 1290 NBA games played every single year. What do you think????

Sheeesh didn't realize there was that many games. As far as underdogs think of it like this. Most teams would always be favorites against the 76ers whether home or away unless the favorite team stars are not playing they may be underdogs or a lot less favorited. It's pretty simple but it's reflected in the line like coolguy said you want to find the edge aka spot betting

underdog playoff series is the same way your better off just playing the favorite but at times there's an angle to the underdog and you don't have to worry about the spread

I think there isn't that's why I was asking around

Lines usually look the sharpest out of every market but I guess when you put it into perspective it would really hard for vegas to stay sharp for 1290 games

I'm not. If anything people that bet NBA are underestimating Vegas since it's by far the hardest market to be profitable at.

I was curious as to why people bet NBA when there are far more profitable markets around

lol, gotta love SBR. every person in this thread made a killing in the NBA this season...amazing. how do these sportsbooks even stay open? think they should pack it in before they go bankrupt, right? "honestly bro, i made a FORTUNE betting second half unders on the Grizzlies TT, but i mean i can see how some people would lose money on the NBA sure."

I can win on the NBA. Need a decent bankroll to do it professionally though because there are stretches in the season and in the playoffs where it's just fv(king difficult.

of course you can, man. you're different. everyone in this thread is different. born winners, through and through. banging your hot girlfriend and counting your gambling winnings. that's SBR in a nutshell, folks.

Yes, of course. I have lost my money, and you have all won. The bookie has nothing on you. All you do is eat the bookie's lunch. I project the downfall of Las Vegas and sportsbooks in general by 2018, 2019 at the latest. Too many people winning. I mean, they can't sustain all the guys in this thread making hundreds of thousands picking their spots each year. They're done for, bro. You figured it out. You unlocked the code. I want to congratulate you.

I don't really think many people said they are making a killing.. I was just saying basically I was up for sure on this nba regular season. Not trying to act like a professional or anything or that I made an actual amount of money. And also the thread says does anyone win betting the nba. So of course most of the c moments are people saying that they do, because that's what the thread topic asked. Settle down.

Well I mean house edge on blackjack is only like 51% or something so people who effectively use chase methods and know how to play could realistically just be up because they are disciplined and have a bank roll.

    martingale bro really?

if you employ a chase method in sportsbetting then you are already a losing punter

Who said I do that in sports betting buddy or that I even play blackjack? I'm just saying that that's why pro blackjack and baccarat players exist. Not because they have run hot their entire lives.

There is no such thing as a pro blackjack/baccarat player.

    Unless you include cheaters..
