Lions vs. Alouettes prediction: Stick a fork in Rourke hype

CFL picks confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale.

Nathan Rourke Under 279.5 passing yards ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Without a doubt, Rourke was unbelievable in his third game back in the CFL.

He torched an Ottawa Redblacks team that held him to just 234 passing yards the week before. But that's the thing, Rourke and the Lions had the benefit of seeing Ottawa's defense for two straight games.

And because he threw for 325 in that second game, his passing yards total is inflated, despite Montreal having one of the best defenses in the league.

In three starts since returning from the NFL, Rourke's been inconsistent and is averaging just 228.3 passing yards per game.

Defense wins championships

The Alouettes are coming off a bye week, which means their defense has had extra time to prepare for Rourke.

Montreal ranks top three in most statistical categories on defense - including passing yards allowed (249.1), QB rating allowed (88.6), and points allowed (21.1).

That's going to make it tough for Rourke to get into a rhythm, and BC might want to lean on its run game instead. The Als struggle against the ground attack, allowing the third most rushing yards per game (105.5).

If Rourke doesn't go Over 279.5 passing yards, a $10 bet pays an $8.47 profit.
