Yeah Stosur scares me some for the futures because if she's right, she could really be a major threat to win this.

Two of the hottest wives in tennis.

Tipsarevic vs. Roddick. Thought Tipsy would get a set. Over looking solid right now if they can keep the next two or THREE tight.

Roddick looks lethargic at best. This argument right now about a foot fault might help Roddick get inspired, because otherwise he's mononuclei-OVER.

                    U.S. OPEN THURSDAY PICKS

                    PARLAY: ANDERSON + WICKMAYER [+123]
Anderson draws Bellucci today. Anderson is in the midst of a breakout summer that has seen him ascend into the Top 80. His serve was crisp and effective in his opener here as he dominated Devvarman in straight sets. Bellucci was able to move past Smyczek in straights, but had some shaky moments with nine double faults and he was broken three times. Bellucci's game isn't a total mess on hard courts, but it's not as well suited as Anderson's big hitting. Look for Anderson to get his 2nd Grand Slam win in a tight four setter probably. Wickmayer draws Georges who some might fancy for an upset as they look back to her performance against Wozniacki on an indoor surface last month. Still, Georges on an outdoor hard court has not been a good proposition. She is 5-7 on the surface in 2010, but has already lost twice to Wickmayer on this surface this year. Georges no doubt has improved since their last meeting in Miami in march, but Wickmayer has proven to be a better player on this surface and looked solid in her opener. She should be able to wear Georges down over the course of this match for the win.

                    CILIC-NISHIKORI OVER 37.5 [-108]
This could be a tricky match for Cilic or he could totally dominate. That's part of the problem with Cilic in 2010, he's a mixed bag. This match-up though should be tougher than some think. Nishikori plays a solid defensive style, liking to put the ball back in play and see if his opponent makes errors in rallies. That's not a strong suit of Cilic in my opinion as he'll be better off using a big serve and keeping the points short. Nishikori should have the advantage at least early on as Cilic has not played anyone with this style in quite some time. If Cilic is slow to adjust his game or too stubborn to adjust it, Nishikori should have the possibility of taking at least one set and giving this wager a shot. Nishikori will need to pump his 1st serve in regularly to give himself the best chance possible. Nishikori seems high on confidence right now after winning a hard court Challenger in August and running through qualis here + an abbreviated 1st round win over Korolev who retired. Health has always been the main issue for him and he appears as healthy as he's been all year. This COULD be an entertaining and long match ... but be forewarned that with Cilic again, things can go in a variety of ways.

I'm still chewing on that one. It's a good situational possiblity for an upset since Melzer had to grind a 5 set win. Not sure I am sold on Berankis though in a best of 5 on this surface just yet though against quality competition. He was a little shaky even though he beat Sweeting. He'll have to serve about 200% better today than he did in Round 1. He had a lot of doubles and did not get his 1st serve in for shit. If he does that against Melzer, Melzer will pound him. Probably want back over +200 for a chance.

Classic Roddick. I do always love his honesty & humor even in losing. From CNNSI.com

The last time Tipsarevic beat Roddick at a major was the second round of Wimbledon in 2008, but Tipsarevic went on to lose to Germany's Rainer Schuettler in the next round. As they shook hands across the net after the match Roddick told Tipsarevic he better not squander this opportunity. "Don't f---ing lose [this] time," he said.

Just a hunch against de Bakker today. Price is too inflated and de Bakker is not invincible. Players are fairly similar although de Bakker's serve usually shows up bigger more often. If Dodig serves solid though, I do fancy him making a match of this.

I'm taking Blake later. If Polanski wins, it won't be him taking (dictating) the match, it will be Blake losing it. Polanski struggles with big serves, he lost to ball on hard, and he lost to Dent as well a few weeks ago. If Blake can get his first serve over 60 percent today, I'm pretty confident he will win.

Some big money coming in on Polanski. This is not the time to fade Blake, everyone would like to think so because of how much he has burried them the last year, but you would not be wise to take Polanski at +140. He is a challenger's player after all.

Same guys who bet Polanksi probably bet Ball too. Just base way too much of their capping off trends.

I hear ya! I think the best play in this match is to just spectate and make it a no play. Clearly if Blake loses it will be because he loses and not Polanski beating him. I was ready to back Blake here but decided to see how he does in this match.

Decent proposition if you think Dodig can win, then 5.5 should be a do-able handicap even if he loses. Likely to be some tight sets unless Dodig serves like a mook.

Wickmayer wins. Half way home on the parlay.

                                          DOUBLES PLAY: YOUZHNY-STAKHOVSKY [-135]

Youzhny & Stakhovsky have teamed together a few times already this season, so this is not an unusal pairing. They draw Damm-Polasek who upset the 3rd seed duo of Dlouhy-Paes, altough that doesn't register that big a shock as those guys had not been playing well this summer. Damm & Polasek are certainly a solid team, having had their best results though on grass this season and clay to some extent. They did win a Challenger level hard court title in the Spring, but otherwise have been average on this surface. Throw in that Youzhny-Stakhovsky beat them on grass for the Halle title and I think you've got the connection for another possible win for the Russian-Ukrainian duo. They also showed a good nerve winning in two tie break sets in their opener against Tipsarevic-Lu. I think the bigger serves of Stakhovksky more-so can help propel them through here. Why? Mob rules baby, mob rules.

Nishikori takes the 2nd set in a tie break, that oughta do it for the total to hit if they finish it out. 25 games through 2 sets. Cilic oughta keep f-ing around, you're gonna get beat if you do sucka.

Yeah no rain anywhere near NY right now. Seems like that is the only match updating on other sites now, but US Open site is an iceberg.

Friday, we will see rain delays I'm quite sure. Hopefully not long ones.

Don't know about that one. Lots of people are sour on Soderling because he played pretty poorly in this opener, but I don't know that I trust Dent to win a set from match-to-match. He's very streaky with his serve. If it's on, then yeah, I think he can take a set. If not, Soderling could flatten him.

For what's left on the board, I like Kevin Anderson best.
