#496Wow! At least someone got paid.
Hareeba's question is an important one, though, to determine the likelihood of those subject to the scam getting paid. If you submitted the request before the scam button appeared, issey76, when exactly? Also, were you pursuing Moneybookers for the funds (ie. how come they knew to pay you)? - did you have a VIP representative helping you? I've heard that's an informal VIP benefit, though I've never seen definitive proof of it.Comment -

#497Hey guys,
Great news that at least someone got money back.
Unfortunately I also had money at Bestake. I didn't press the scam button, so the money was still in my account before the site went down. I deposited with Neteller, not Moneybookers.
Does anybody know if Neteller will do the same as moneybookers and give (at least a part of) the money back? Can SBR help is by putting pressure on Neteller or something?Comment -

That pic looks tiny.
The same thing happens to me when I post a pic. It will be big and then 10 minutes later SBR automatically reconfigures it and makes it tiny.Comment -

#504For me this responded Moneybookers , with what for me it Issey76 my friend and I know that the money was paid to them. What idiotic they are here.
Moneybookers:
Dear Balint,
Our stance on Bestake is such that we are no longer supporting Bestake and all remaining pay outs are made upon customers' requests. If you feel that you are owed money by Bestake you need to contact them directly.
Having said that we indeed paid out the funds to the customers who came forward and presented the proof that bestake confirmed the payout via e-mail. The Bestake presented us with the list of clients, then we were able to pay.
Please address the issue to bestake.

Their response was as follows: "we can not do anything for his money, ask the police" ". How did issey76 to have his money? And a fake? Bye.... from ItalyComment -

How can you seriously hold MB and NT responsible for the actions of all the businesses they transfer money to/from?
They have no ability to go and recover money from scam businesses. The best they can do is legally and fairly appropriate any funds they hold on account of such businesses. It would appear that may be what MB has done in this case.Comment -

#524Thanks for the article ! Yeah the exchanges provide the best odds, but the commission is really high. Moreover, you need at least another bettor to bet with you, in some markets, I could not find any guys out to bet with. That's why bookmakers still alive
A person by the name of Tom Walsh appears in many press releases relating to Bestake.
Here is an article by the same guy that is interesting. Seems to be well known in the industry. Will dig some more. Some of what he writes might make you sick!
Betting exchanges are a great way to place bets, maximize your returns and bet on local, national and international events from the comfort of your home. All you need is - to be an adult, be in a country where betting is legally accepted to register yourself with an exchange. Once registered with a minimum deposit, you can get going. The betting exchange software, much like that of an online stock exchanges software, keeps getting updated for you to place your bets. For or against, which allows you to play the role of a bookie as well.
If you are a novice some research will be in order before you sign up with an exchange to begin your transaction. You can either opt for the biggest exchange in the game to get an all round experience or else go in for the numerous new exchanges that are coming up to try your luck. Signing up with a smaller exchange may give you benefits of more personalized service and maybe even some tips on how best to place your winning stakes. A big exchange on the other hand may give you advantages of entering the big league directly and you can also place big bets at one time. I however recommend that you begin gradually, read the fine print that comes with registering with an exchange and then move forward. Of course do not forget to check if the exchange you are registering with allows you to place bets on the type of sporting or other activities you are interested in.
Some tips to select the best betting exchange are: • Check the credentials of the site you are signing up with - you plan to place your money in the hands of the exchange in the form of deposit and bets. It is only right that you know if that exchange is registered with the gambling commission of the country it operates from and is operating from a country which has legalized betting. This will help you in case you need the intervention of the authorities at any point of time, during grievance redressal. A registered betting exchange will also have to lay down its rules and regulations to bettors and maintain transparency. The books of the exchange are also open to inspection by the authorities. This will give you security in your surebets and help distinguish ween fly by night operators and the genuine ones.
• Once registered check on the response system of the exchange - this refers to the number of times their site is updated during the placing of bets and in play betting. This will help you place well informed bets and increase the chance of winning something. Response systems can also be checked in relation to dealing with any software glitches that you may face, which will not only affect you financially but also inhibit the placing of bets in the correct manner. Another thing to check on is the payment options like credit and debit cards accepted and the time period of transacting them so that you know where your account stands at the earliest. Some betting exchanges also offer facilities like tracking the entire amount of bets placed and the risks associated with them at one click to make your decisions more worthwhile.
• The liquidity and the volume of bets you can place and the commissions charged - if you are going to be a large scale bettor, select an exchange that offers you volume and liquidity to match your profile. Most exchanges begin their bets with 2 to 3 pounds or euros and limit the betting to amounts ranging from two thousand to five thousand or even more depending on their scale of operations. Regular punters are also offered discounts at times to reward them for their loyalty. Commissions charged range from 4 to 5 percent of the net winnings with the loser not being charged anything.
If you want to get totally into the groove of betting exchanges, it is also recommended to register with more than one exchange so that your registrations complement each other and the losses in one can be offset by the gains in another.
So good luck with selecting your exchange.
Bestake was established with the general idea of taking members betting exchange experience to the next level with world's leading products, world-class customer service, extraordinary promotions and bonuses, private rooms that allowing to costumers open and manage their own gambling worlds and of course the brand new odds intervention tools that makes players visit in Bestake much more fascinating.

compared with what?
The very highest I'm aware of is 5% at Betfair before any discounts (which most regulars would enjoy)
Matchbook charges 1% to both players so on a evens bet effectively 2%
Pinnacle's is renowned as the lowest juice book and their best lines are 10 cents I think?
That equates to 4.5+%
P.S.
leaving aside Betfair's horrendous premium charge which is applied to only a small percentage of successful playersComment
