I don't even have $250,000 to my name buddie. I said I aint rich, but pay taxes like I am. I have no wealth because I am propping up this same deadbeat society I am arguing with that hates me.
I do mission trips overseas to provide food, shoes, shelter, etc..stuff like that.
Do you know why I do it overseas and not in my own back yard where i know people could use assistance?
Because the people overseas are appreciative of it. Whenever I have reached out to my own community it felt like I was supposed to and I owed it to them. I do not owe anybody shit. I once worked for a retail chain.. We were accepting red cross vouchers from the people that lost everything in Hurrican Katrina. These people were getting all new furnishings from our store for fukking free and did nothing but bitch to us the whole time about this or that. I'll speak to Boston area....worked there straight outta college and swore never again! Have a sister there now....pays $2900 month for a 900 sq ft apartment....$310 to park there....and still has cab fair to deal with seeing as how the area is designed to get to the business park. That, coupled with higher state taxes....and other expenses.....doesn't make her all that affluent after taxes. I lived in Hawaii when I was in the Army...no way in hell you can live comfortably out there on less than $250 and raise a family....$2000+ for small apartment....$4.0+ gas....$7 for a gallon of milk...etc...
Now add a wife and 2 kids and expenses go up even more. I can go on and on.
I would agree with you if someone is single and makes $250 'AFTER' tax income...and lives in Tupelo,Mississippi or Richland, Missouri etc. But you have to consider population and location for cost of living these days.
Another point....consider those small/medium LLC's and such that report business revenue on personal income forms.....
$300k in business revenue being taxed....figure in operating expenses and the rest...the 'take home pay' is well below this.
This is why we need to shy away from the generalizations used by the pundits of "you're for billionaires" and "you hate the working class" and be logical about these things.Comment -
