#2806Hey John...do you have an updated record and units won / lost for NFL for this season? Keep it up!Comment -

#2808Here is the updated record. 33-27 ATS with 5* plays, 4-3 ATS with 10* plays and 3-1 with the 20* Titans.
So, an easy way to look at units one is to break it down by * unit play. For example sake, let's say we are wagering $100 per 5* unit. So, for 5* graded plays we won $3300 and lost $2970 for a net gaining of $330.00 per $100 5* play (this is using $20.00 per * unit)
10* graded plays went 4-3 so now we are wagering $200 per 10* winning $800 and losing $660 for a net gain of $140.
20* plays are 3-1 ATS so we are now wagering $400 per 20* play winning $1200 while losing $440 for a net gain of $760.
Overall, we made $760 on the 20* plays, $140 on the 10* plays, and $330. on the 5* plays for a grand total of $1230.00 to date.Comment -

#2809Now, some, not necessarily myself, would make all of the plays equivalent to a 5* play.
so, 5* plays are 33-27, then a 4-3 10* record is equivalent to an 8-6 ATS 5* mark because a 10* is double the amount of a 5*.
then 20* are 4 times the 5* amount so the 3-1 record then becomes 12-4 ATS. Adding these up you get a combined record of 53-37 ATS mark, which is than translated to 59% ATS. I personally do not deal with percentages, Units one as outlined above is a far more meaningful because it is reflected in your statement! Right? smile. anyway, we need to get a nice win streak the last two weeks and get this 5* mark up to as close as we can to 60% ATS, which was my goal stated on page 1 of this thread and has always been my goal for 18 seasons.Comment -

#2813What about your 10.4 unit money line loss on DALLAS? Or the 3* loss on STL for the 2nd half on MNF. Your record keeping is atrocius. Why do you try and deliberately mislead people?? You are actually just barely +units if every play was tailed. 59% haha, what a joke. I expect you're followers to come in and ignorantly defend you, but thats there problem. Don't you have any integrity? Don't get me wrong, I like the converstation and debate and I do tail from time to time, but please stop misleading people. It's embarrassing!!!Comment -

Your inability to read and understand really very simple methodology is the most embarrassing thing in this thread. The only thing misleading is people like you trying to cloud a very simple thread that John has going.Comment -

#2817I just started using this website and have not been following John for a long time like some of you have. I can already tell though he seems like an honest guy that has a passion for betting sports like we all do. I do not understand why someone wants to come on and be negative.Nobody makes you follow John or even use this website. If you're going to be negative then why don't just leave. I believe John gives information that he believes in, he is not going to always win but he will put his best effort in and his opinion about what he feels to be a solid play. Last night I took Cal Poly and lost by a point, I got this pick from John and you do NOT see me coming on here complaining about it. Remember the goal is 60%, if he or I were perfect at picking plays we would not be on here. No to negative comments or people questioning John.Comment -

#28245* graded play 'UNDER' the posted total in the Texans/Colts game. line is 40 1/2 -110.
Houston will run the ball better than 40 times and if successful may run it 50 + times. There is NO reason for them to have an aggressive offensive scheme against a Colts team that I think will play hard, but go through the motions...
Houston will want ball control and time of possession in their favor and by as much as possible. More later.Comment -

#2825I just might note too that I had an 'optional' MONEY LINE play on Arizona at +14 points when they upset the Eagles in Philadelphia. And there were others too. I appreciate the support and how many of clarify the accounting of the record. I appreciate it very much during this busy time of the year.Comment -

#2827John - you wanna see a fixed a game - your looking at it. At least 4x bogus calls on Texans so far and its not even halftime. How about that 10 yard sack that turned into a roughing the QB...nice 25 yard swing? Meanwhile the shitty ass injury riddled Colts can do no wrong. You cant account for corrupt officials!Comment -

#2828Deol you look about as batsh*t crazy as JR007... John was extremely clear and explicit in how he will record his official record and in keeping to his method he is accurate. The optional plays to which you allude are not part of the official record.

#2830I love how you point out how his 3* plays are optional but completely ignore to comment on the 10.4 unit loss. The poster above clearly explains they are not used for his record keeping, but he's not a douche about it. Explain to me this: If you wager 10.4 Units to win 5 units like John did on the DAL game, how is that considered a 5* play? He lost and only counts it as a 5* loss, and therefore if you tailed perfectly you would not be near to where John says he is. I don't care if anyone believes me or not, it doesn't take much common sense to figure that out. I actually like a lot of his plays, I just dislike being deliberately mislead. Best thing to do here is prolly tail if you are leaning that way already, but don't tail because his inaccurate record appears "good."
I only wanted to add some 'bonus' suggestions and ideas that i thought were worthy for everyone's consideration above and beyond the ATS picks and analysis.Last edited by John Ryan; 12-23-11, 10:13 AM.Comment -

#2831"To clarify further, the Dallas play would count as a 10* play since it matters only how much is being wagered and not the won to be won. The play on Arizona defeating the Eagles offsets the Dallas loss immediately.. I do appreciate you pointing it out."
If one actually tailed your official plays, the optional 2 units wager on ARI ML over PHI would not offset the DAL loss as it was an optional play. I guess we will just agree to disagree on your record keeping and ATS record. GL the rest of the way.Last edited by Deol; 12-23-11, 12:28 PM.Comment -

#2832I truly want to just have ATS records. I can assure you if I post the optional money line plays that I released in both CFB and the NFL, it would more than offset the horrid Dallas pick. To clarify further, the Dallas play would count as a 10* play since it matters only how much is being wagered and not the won to be won. The play on Arizona defeating the Eagles offsets the Dallas loss immediately.. I do appreciate you pointing it out.

#2833Good call on the Houston/Indy under. I thought that could of been a 10* play even. Rookie qb against a weak Indy team, who still managed to pull out the win and still was on the underComment -
