Your The Best and Sneer is scheduled to run today in Race 8 at Gulfstream Park.
Your the best first time broke late spotted the field about 15 made his move coming around the first turn .then coming to top of stretch had to zig zag bumped a few horses finished well
Sneer was a game second the the heavy favorite pleasant otb last was pressured on the lead just about the entire race help his own at the wire 2nd best

Blip says bye. Shows a lot of speed last two were descent .long odds
Lil miss moppett and trapped N my mind both ran sharp races finished 2nd and 3rd to inshannity on 4/10 first time starter odds on even money ....won easy

kid is this the pick 5 strategy you like to employ on occasion

pick 5

2×2×2×2×2 =32
4×4×4×4×4 =1024 (32×32)

if 2 in each leg are "key" horses
if 2 in each leg are "secondary" horses

(for ease of explaining 4 horses total/leg )

main ticket =32 combos

key horses each leg (2) with the secondary horses in each leg (2)
32 ×5 (legs)=160 secondary combos

6 tickets =192 combos
vs 1024 (4×4×4×4×4) combos

so now if 4 of 5 of your key horses win and the losing leg is won by a secondary horse you hit the pick 5..and that's reasonable expectation..if you miss one leg with your mains should be your secondary picks that saves you

I like the A/B spread tickets , I’m against the A/A/A/A/C , tickets

my advice on multi race bets to guys , is play Pick 4 with one True single , Pick 5 w/ 2 ... pick 6 with 3

and play carryover days / mandatory days

I’m not playing again until Friday / Saturday and just Arky

can’t wait , they gonna top Florida derby day

I'm an old harness guy.....whats the parallel for Pacers?

Well you guys run every week, if they don’t run for 2 weeks it’s a layoff and all about post position

I try to handicapp in the eyes of the connections

it’s a trying time currently, so doesn’t play as big a part, but when everything open, certain connections aren’t shipping for purse money, there is a reason why they choose the extra expenditures

when New York opens back up, I’ll give you a perfect idea, of local shippers from finger lakes

and after covid it will make more sense

Yes , the split division I don’t like, but understand they can only hold 14

Before digging in, first thoughts

I like the aces in the first division , #1 Charlton #11 Basin

my dad told me Charlton was gonna win derby , last year , but I need to see it and I can’t quit on Basin

In the 2nd division , obv nadal , Farmington road , wells bayou

...

depending on sequence , I’ll be using both Flavian Pratt’s horses

as he’s coming back for this

and I don’t think baffert is lock

what nadal did last time was nuts,

not ready to crown the next effort after that

also Farmington road is only using because Javy coming back

impossible imo , mixture of horses in good form, good horses coming off layoffs and some interesting price horses that didn’t fare well against good company



its making that sequence almost unplayable

even I use 2 singles lol

Just some early thoughts I jotted down for Arky Oaks Day (at least that's what im calling it)


Friday May 1


Oaklawn Late pick 5 sequence


Race 6


Just an outstanding Mdn 60K field, either you pass on the pick 5 or go cheap. PP 10 Onaway , finished 4th on debut, behind Pnematic, Skol Factor, & Liams Pride, the number came back big, Cox brings in a strong work tab, and Javier rides , coming back from Corona. 1 Fast Cash (6/1) , Ran behind Liams Pride and Violent Pass (who just scored at big number here last week) Should take another step forward.6 Silardi (10/1) , City Zip colt has been working great for this debut, dangerous connections. 7 Mundacious (12/1) , wouldn’t shock me, Jeremiah putting Kendrick aboard this New York shipper, tells they are going to the front. 9 Super Constitution (8/1) & 12 Inis Gluaire (3/1), another pair of promising firsters. I can make cases for more in here as well. #14 J Z My Man (8/1) , Could be dangerous if drawn in.

K J’s Nobility should take this , Man in the Can is interesting on the outside.


Race 8


Field has plenty of speed for going to this long, #3 Gingham (3/1) , is a stalking runner with tactical speed, shows Bast, Venetian Harbor, Donna Veloce, in the running lines. #5 Daphne Moon (4/1) , Also has plenty of NY back class, and just won going this distance, in a similar spot. (Note that Cohen , goes elsewhere). #7 Strong Flag (9/2) , Finished a length behind the #2 Piece of my heart in the last (who got first run), Should like the added distance. #8 Comical seems like has lost a step this year, and does her best work on the front end, too much pace to wire this distance. #10 Anoinette (8/1) , Finished 3rd in the grade 2 fairgrounds oaks , but was under a snug hold, which I’m guessing was due to being keyed up off the bench. Could get a nice stalking trip here under Johnny V. #11 His Glory (8/1) Amoss is really starting to become a break out trainer, but he’s a one trick pony, and sends almost all his horses. Cohen rides here on a horse that dueled in the G2 Rachael Alexandra vs Finite, British Idiom & Swiss Skydiver. Just think its a huge ask to be sent from the 11 post, vs this projected pace, going this long.

Race 9


Im all about Venetian Harbor, not even sold this filly needs or even wants the lead, i just think was so much faster than her competition. Its a very deep field of fillies for sure, and she will not win if in a speed duel with some one these, and if that happens, Javier might be licking his chops on British Idiom.


But I could single here


Race 10


Its hard to ignore the #1 Miss Imperial (4/1) , filly lands in a new barn after 3 straight wins, which comes with a pilot downgrade. Diodoro has the #7 Wholehearted (5/2), in great form. There are 2 horses coming of long layoffs, that clearly fit. #6 Spend Spend Spend (7/2) , #8 La Chancla (4/1) , Several very interesting prices horses, near impossible race to handicapp.


Not sure I can play this sequence.

They had to draw a few times I heard for the split divisions in arky derby for owners / trainers to be split

but read an interesting article that suggestions they just want charlton to run or wouldn’t of split

his division is much weaker than the other

going beyond the obvious 6 and 7..two back this level good 2nd..trainer tremendous cutbacks. .guessing she's a turf paradise trainer trying oaklawn..never heard of her

I do..if I had to leave out a logical it would be asmussen..bad off a layoff and wit new acquisitions
(at least roi-wise)..don't care about last race at CT

67 tough to leave off but question a little why the 6 was put on the shelf so long after the claim..balas is fantastic at it though but not sure that means anything to me with the layoff
