#108I am kinda known for the labby and glad the lockout is finally over. I will be running a labby for JM plays following all systems together.
Start with 4 numbers per line. I will be playing all plays at -110 odds. If the system gets a win via buying 3pts at -170 to -200 juice then when the next series starts I will add 1 unit to my line and continue betting the next series. I will be using a two strike method with 2 units per line.
For example if your unit size is $10 then your starting labby line is:
$5 / $5 / $5 / $5
A) is to clear two #s. If you win then your new line is $5 / $5 and you move onto the next series. If a loss occurs then you now have 5 #s on your line
$5 / $5 / $5 / $5 / $11.
If the series won buying 3 pts your new line will be
$5 / $5 $5 / $5 / $11 + add 1 unit to your line for the next series. $21 + $10 = $31 / $5
new Line for the next series if system won buying 3pts
$6.2 / $6.2 / $6.2 / $6.2 / $6.2
I will update with more info later on, but this is what i think the best way of running this system is thus far.
2 strike labby
single line averaging.
Add a unit to each line for each new series.

#113Anyone have an excel sheet, or CSV, with the full schedule for all the teams with who they are playing and if they are away or home? I found one for last year that I modified for the JM system but either none is out there or my googling skills have slipped. I am wiling to modify it and post it back up so anyone can follow on one simple sheet.
Thanks,

#115Jumping on board. This could be an interesting year with the abbreviated schedule and the back to back to back games and the long road trips. Like a minefield. GL allComment -

#116Just take caution and don't risk more than you can take, never know when it'll throw us a curveball. The first bet of the season is on Christmas yet I will most likely be watching only during December.Comment -

#117Hey On3 are you going to be labbying this season? If you are, what type of labby? 3 line aggressive like in NHL?
ThanksComment -

Take the ML if the team is favored by more than -3
Skip series if the best player on the team is injured (ex. dont play the Lakers if Kobe is out)
Skip series for the team that is either the best or worst on the road due to juice
I would play right away, but seeing as the teams did not have much preseason practice or training, I will wait until January.Comment -

#121No according to JM you can start playing as soon as the season starts. His only filters are:
Take the ML if the team is favored by more than -3
Skip series if the best player on the team is injured (ex. dont play the Lakers if Kobe is out)
Skip series for the team that is either the best or worst on the road due to juice
I would play right away, but seeing as the teams did not have much preseason practice or training, I will wait until January.Comment -

#122I think hagball was right, but the rule of the system was do not play a road series if there first game of the season is on the road.
Also I would still play it if your labbying it. I'm sure you can clear a few units before mid jan.
Also we should establish what rules we are actually following in this thread cause this was a big issue last year.
JM rules: Listed above post #120
forum rules: Do not play ML on a team favored by more then 3. We all discussed this last year and it was a BS rule to cover up 1 loss Houston had in previous years.
2) Always buy points. Last year was an exception cause buying points did not come into account, but if you back test previous 5 years, you would lose a lot more series with out buying points and lose money.
3) For those who are using labby it wont really matter if you buy points or take standard line. Just make sure you add a unit to your line when a new series starts. This will allow you to have basically undefeated season.
4) the best player on the team (im sure some one can provide the link to that) is based on efficiency rating i believe. This was a big problem last year where you bet on A) but then best player gets injured during the game, so some people decide to skip B following JM rules and take there 2 unit loss others continue. This discussion was based on sports book taking into account best player is out and adjusting the spread. Last year I believe Phx loss with Nash being out, so in my opinion i would skip future bets if best player is out or fade the team. Its optional on which way you want to do it, but JM will not count the series as a loss on his record. If it wins then he will count it as a win though... I know shady business, but we all know how JM is.

#123so for tomorrow we have
Bos +8 (A)
Chi ML or -1 (A)
Are we ignoring the rule about not having a series start as first game of the season on the road?
I will be labbying this system with $10 unit size starting with 2 units per line and playing the regular line at -110 odds. I will add a unit to my line if the series is won buying 3pts.
JM NBA road System
Record:0-0
Profit: $0
unit size $10
Labby Line:
5 5 5 5
- 12/25/2011 12:05 PM NBA Basketball 501 Boston Celtics* +5 -110 vs New York Knicks
Risking $11.00 To Win $10.00 - 12/25/2011 5:00 PM NBA Basketball 505 Chicago Bulls* -4 -110 vs Los Angeles Lakers
Risking $11.00 To Win $10.00
Each Wager is to clear two #s on the line. I will also be using single line averaging.
Good Luck for tomorrow everyone.

#129Back testing has proved that you should not play the A Bet. You should only play the B and C Bets, betting to win 3 units (3 x what you would have tried to win with the A Bet).
Good luck everyoneComment -

#130JM Disciple There is no rule that says to skip a team if their first few games qualify. You can play right away.
Chillx You are correct, the NY Knicks play on the 28th is a V1 play. Sorry for the typo!Comment -

#131All chasers, it is better to do as Kev the Brit has stated. Skip the A bet and bet 3 units (instead of 1 + A loss) on every B bet. It may seem like your betting on fewer series, but it is a more profitable strategy. Labby players can still bet A games.
For those betting A games, there are 2 plays today:
December 25
V3 BOSTON +8 @ NY Knicks (A)
V1 CHICAGO ML @ LA Lakers (A)
The bets listed will either be listed as ML if favored more than -3 or will have the +3 points included. I will be recording results this season from this point forward for each version. So the plays are going to be laid out traditionally for accuracy.

#136Later in the season are you really going to play ML on a 9pt favorite? We discussed last year the ML rule was a BS rule. If you are going to follow that rule you should be following some of the other BS rules as well.
I think traditional it will be chi -1 and not ML. The ML rule was put in only recently.

PS> Limit are you running labby how you did last year? I remember you mentioning just averaging the loss over the 4 #s so your always only 2 wins away from clearing the line.Comment -

#137Just want to add one more thing to those who can get in on the action. Xmas day has a nice time lay out between games, so im going to be labbying 1st half / 2nd half for favorites based on point spread. Just trying to make a couple extra units today to help my bankroll
Good Luck
PS
I wont be listing any other plays on this forum cause i know last year it got too confusing. Just stick with Chase110 and JM on here. All other systems should be posted in their own threads. Keep up the great work Wallco.Comment -
