Im only a casual NBA follower and my eyes lit up seeing Utah -2, just like it did when they were +375 at Denver(although I just follow and don't bet NBA much). Utah's been so crappy lately that I think the Denver win signifies their inevitable turnaround. Plus, I watched Sacramento a few times, even in winning efforts, and they just look so shitty. Like Donaghy said, he favored who he thought the powers that be would want to win. If you want to keep getting assignments, you try your best (as inconspicuosly as possible) to not give away the books' $$$ w/o being TOOO obvious. It's that simple. The nba doesn't have to SAY this to their refs, they just get it.... or they stop getting assignments.
That being said, sometimes it's just beyond their control. They did everything they could at the end of the game to not pay off that Dallas ml in Boston the other day, just couldn't stop 'em w/o putting the ball in the hoop for Boston themselves. I'm sure the "powers" appreciated the effort, though, and that's all they WANT. Any more would blow their cover and they'd have to heed calls for refs being ousted. So they concede the loss and go on to the next one.

the line is -2 for a reason
i think you have to question a few reasons why it is -2 but i dont want to get into it because some reasons were already mentioned. however, from your 4 years of "professional" gambling you have to admit that no game is a gimmie and vegas will never hand you over "easy" money on a consistant basis unless you were a 80% + winner and those are very rare gambling winners. If you are confident with taking the points then do so but why bother tring to prove something? i mean. if i was so confident in my play why do i bother wasting time on here tring to convince others that its the winning bet?
i never care what anyone thinks of my bets. i usually post them if i feel that its a strong pick but never do i try to convice or insult people regardless.
