Did you see tonight? He took over in the fourth and gave the Cavs no chance of losing. Yeah, Kobe's buzzer-beaters have been nice, but he can't close a game like Lebron.

#4Its too easy for LeBron.
Now I'm listening the ESPN say that Kobe had "scathing words for his teammates". What a joke. Nobody on the Lakers want to here from a guy who never gives them any credit, and rarely has their back.
Kobe is obviously getting tuned out until the playoffs.
Oh yea its really funny how all the Lakers that have problems, their problems are related with Kobe.

#9Jordan didn't have near the charisma of Lebron...maybe "likability" is a better word for what I'm trying to express. Everyone that interacts with Lebron, family, friends, teammates, coaches, fans, etc LOVES the guy. Just watch Cleveland warmup closely one night. It's like all the Cavs fight for his attention.Comment -

Kobe has nothing to prove. He may or may not be a nice guy, but on the basketball court he's within 2 rings of Jordan. That would be 6 for Lebron. I don't know if I would call that a moral, but it's certainly 'more' towards 'all'.Comment -

#20I';ve Only witnessed Lebron hit 3 buzzer beaters in his whole career. 1 against GS, 1 against Wash in the playoffs, 1 orlando playoffs, kobe has the nuts to milk the clock til 1 second left and then takes fadeaways in between two guys. Lebron tries to go to the rim to close game because his jumpshot isn't reliable (it is, just not when going for the win/tie).
Not talking about free throws, go ahead shots, simply buzzer beaters, when you have the ball in your hands, and that's when all the true pressure is on. That's what defines clutchness more so than dominating a 4th quarter. When you can accept the pressure and time and time again deliver on those most-difficult buzzer beaters, like Kobe has 6 times this year, it speaks for itself.
WHich is why 75 percent of NBA players voted that they would give the last shot of the game to Kobe, while only 3 percent selected Lebron.Cause Sleep is the Cousin of DeathComment -

#22i didn't say he was any bad this year, it's just not right for williams to start a thread to praise lebron just by having a great game, it's only in the regular season and those stats mean nothing when you can't carry that kind of production in the playoffs, he's saying lebron has been a good closer if he's that good of a closer and player he can take the cavs to the nba finals this year, he has a good supporting cast this year so i think there won't be any excuses again if they don't get to the nba finals this year
I say again, buzzer beaters are OVERRATED. If you can close out a game before that, you'll never need the buzzer beater.Comment -

Ever think that last year may not have been Lebron's fault? Orlando was about the worst matchup you could have drawn up for the Cavs. Can we blame Kobe for the Lakers' failures in the 3 years before last?
The question in that poll was who do you want taking the last shot. My argument is that buzzer beaters are overhyped anecdotes of someone being clutch. Yes, they are great, but someone closing out a game and running away with the win in the 4th quarter is equally impressive if not better.Comment -

yes kobe has some part on it, but his teammates are recipe for disaster, only lamar odom is a notable teammate for kobe during those 3 years, caron butler left after the 1st year, lebron should have delivered when it counted it most, dwight was in foul trouble almost every game during that series, lebron should have used that to his advantage

#29what do you expect kobe to do? be a guy who smile during interviews? they have different personality with lebron just live with it, if he has a bad attitude, at least he has sportsmanship, he could afford to stay on the court to shake hands after he lost unlike lebron who just turned his back on the magic

How many times has Kobe lashed out against his teammates? How about the game he refused to shoot anymore because Phil told him he was shooting too much? How about the rape? He doesn't have to smile during interviews, but treating the interviewers with respect wouldn't be too hard.
So Kobe fails for 3 years and it's not his fault, but it is all Lebron's fault when the Cavs lose? How about this...if Kobe wasn't such selfish crybaby and hadn't demanded for Shaq to be traded they wouldn't have struggled for 3 years. That is solely Kobe's fault. He chose being the center of attention over winning, classy. The guy is a prick.Comment -

#31The not shaking hands was incredibly overblown. Kobe and every other NBA star has done it many times before. The only difference was some young reporter decided to make it the issue of the week since we all needed a reason to talk about Lebron during the Finals even though he wasn't playing.

kobe tries to lit a fire under their asses, jordan did the same thing he even punched kerr. no matter kobe does haters will always have something to say about it, if he continues to shoot what will you say about him then? a ballhog? someone who can't be coached? if he passes the ball you have a problem with it when he shoots you also have a problem about it, guess you're just insecure about your boy even with his good stats and great plays still can't overtake kobe in rings and achievements, before you complain about the rape case it wasn't proven that his guilty, he paid the girl off or not we both don't know but bottomline he isn't in jail right now
i said he has a part in it, but it wasn't entirely his fault to have bum players playing with him, lebron has a better supporting cast than kobe had in the past, besides playing in the west is a lot tougher than playing in the east. it's jerry buss' choice to stick with kobe and trade shaq, so what if kobe demanded to trade shaq it'sup to the team owner and GM to choose who will they side, so it's not kobe's fault to see shaq leaveComment -

Second, how can you possibly defend Kobe's incredibly childish behavior? Kobe was shooting everything in sight in the first half. Phil told him he was shooting too much and to be more selective at half time. Kobe protested like a child and refused to shoot for the rest of the game.
Also, there is no defending Kobe's insistence on trading Shaq. Keeping Shaq would have meant 2 or 3 more rings, easily. Instead, Kobe couldn't stand sharing the spotlight and chose losing. And people call this guy a winner? Please.
Lebron took a team that started Eric Snow, Sasha Pavlovic, and Drew Gooden to the Finals, how come Kobe couldn't get there with his poor teams?Comment -

#35You don't get it. First off, Kobe didn't shake hands after either loss to the Cavs this year. I don't think it matters all that much, but if you want to turn Lebron into a bad guy for doing it once let's at least be fair.

2nd when did that game happen? where did you see the report about phil telling kobe to be more selective about his shots?
3rd kobe was entering his prime back then and shaq is already on the decline, shaq doesn't want to share the spotlight and take a backseat to kobe, so kobe has to take all those blame?Comment
