I would like to remind everyone how important it is to have several books to make sure we get the best line possible. I was also able to get +3.5 like Stifler, now I see +2.5 across the board. Personally, I have six books well funded. I would recommend for everyone to have atleast three.Comment -

#1302I'm told that if my local book (abcwagering) detects me playing a system that I'm winning. He might raise my juice to 120.
To disguise this I've considered hiding the system by using different books for different bets.
For example;
A bets with Bookmaker.
B bets with my local book.
C bets with Bookmaker.
D bets with my local book.
Have any of you come across this issue?
Please advise.Comment -

#1313I know I am probably just talking to a wall when I say this but I think all fourth quarter betting discussions should be in a different thread. We already have enough confusion looming with newcomers entering the thread and asking questions about Stiff's current system.

#1314Hey Stifler,
So I usually post on covers but ran across this thread on SBR. I like your system - so i'm going to play it this year along with other models that I play. I tend to automate any systems I play - so I automated yours. See the attached zip file.
All you have to do is click on the "Today" button to navigate to today's date, and click the "update" button and it will pull in all the data needed from the web (i.e Covers ATS results, etc) to determine the plays of the day. I also added a Bet Tracker tab. If you click on the "Add Bets" button any plays for the day are copied to the Bet Tracker tab and it tells you the when and against what team the future plays will be if A,B, or C bet are lost.
One of the nice features you can click the "-" button and navigate to past dates and see if a chase started on that day.
So use it if you like - hope it makes it easier - if you find any bugs - let me know.
Also - in order to run the macros needed to pull the data from the web you NEED Excel 2007 or newer - sorry NO Open Office - you need MS Excel. So really only PC's - No MACS
Good Luck on the season and Enjoy!
Degengamble
I updated the logic in the spreadsheet so it follows Stiflers system when a team wins 4,5, or 6 in a row. Rather than starting a new A bet on every consecutive W or L in the streak - it now waits for a nother 3 game streak.
Basically - it mirrors Stiflers system rules.
Enjoy!

#1315Hey Stifler,
This looks like a beautiful system. Thank you for posting it.
I just had a question, why did you pick only those specific teams for each system? Did you back test your systems and decide that those were the best teams or what was the rationale behind picking those specific teams?
Thanks again.Comment -

I can answer this one for Stiff. He back-tested 6+ years of data and found those teams to be the most profitable.
On that note, last week there was some discussion on how teams should be chosen for each system and how far back the back-tested data should actually be used to determine which teams are played in each system.
What if we used a weighting system for the back-tested results? We would weigh the more recent season’s results heavier than seasons past.
For Example, we would multiply each team’s results seasonally by the following proportions:
Multiply the 2011-2012 season results by .30
Multiply the 2010-2011 season results by .25
Multiply the 2009-2010 season results by .20
Multiply the 2008-2009 season results by .15
Multiply the 2007-2008 season results by .10
Obviously these proportions could be changed to whatever we see fit, but the whole idea of this is to eliminate the use of outdated statistics, and capture the more relevant data.
When I get time I am going to test this theory, but in the meantime I just wanted to share the #thingsiponderatnightComment -

I believe this statement is incorrect if you read through the forum, there are several other profitable teams that maybe more profitable than the ones he chose, however, those more profitable teams also are inconsistent!Comment -

#1321I haven't run into any extra juice but I've hit some limits
Multiply the 2011-2012 season results by .30
Multiply the 2010-2011 season results by .25
Multiply the 2009-2010 season results by .20
Multiply the 2008-2009 season results by .15
Multiply the 2007-2008 season results by .10
The above is a good idea but we're not talking many hits per team in a season (which is why I went back 10 years, the Lakers are like 72-1 on losing streaks).Comment -
