I know we don't take team performances into consideration with JM's system. However, the Islanders are currently the 2nd worst road team in the League. 2 years ago, on another SBRforum discussion, we discussed filtering out or fading the worst 2 road teams after a series failure cost the system 30+ units. JM filters out the worst road team and I think that it is worth extending the filter to the 2nd worst team as well.

I'm not playing NYI (2 units lost on this series) until they improve their road standing.

Good point. When you think about it, the Blue Jackets are only worse than the Islanders on the road because they've played more road games. And all it would take to make the Islanders the worst road team is for the Blue Jackets to win one on the road.

so i ended up taking Dallas, Edmonton, and Minnesota today on the PL and they all won! woohoo! I know it doesn't follow the rules if they are on a 6 day road trip we don't split it but I just thought I would try it and it turned out pretty well.. I guess I will ride this for as long as it is profitable!

PL is Puck Line. The puck line is the point spread in hockey is going to plus or minus 1.5

This is absolutely not true. One C bet loss and you've wiped out a majority of those winnings. Let's not be counting our chickens just yet. Unless of course you want to wrap up the season now, like you said.

Hey Capitan, how many loses where on the V1 PL system for 09-10? I know last year there was only 1 C loss for that system, but it seems the year before had 2-3 loses? Would just like to know the number, thanks!

2 losses on the V1 PL for 09-10 (Dallas on 1/14 and Washington on 2/13) and it still showed a profit of 19u
1 loss on V1 PL for 10-11 - profit of 47u

The Islanders are slight underdogs tonight against the Avalanche. The C bet, if it gets there, will be against the Canucks. Both of these teams have identical records thus far (7-7) and are middle of the road teams. They are both allowing approximately the same goals per game. I'd say chances are good that the Islanders can keep one of these games close or win one outright. Not to mention Colorado's home record (1-5-0) is almost as bad as New York's road record (0-3-1). If the Islanders were playing two powerhouse teams as the B and C bets, I might be inclined to lay off but I think we can pull through here. Not the time to fade, IMO.

I agree with this. Especially Col is poor at home and any team can win in the NHL. NYI were also in that Boston game for a bit. And, lastly, although Giguère is playing well this year, he's always due for a letdown. Montoya is also finally showing what he can do in the NHL and borderline living up to his pedigree when he was drafted. This should be a good game.

yea a 3-0 lead seemed good with my Florida bet on Sunday, then they lost in shootouts. not much different tonight with the Isles

No kidding, that last minute goal in the 2nd was a backbreaker that gave the Avs confidence in the third. Oh well, the PL hit, I suppose.
