what's up, Rick? i am considering Wisky minus points Saturday, although i think i like the over better. i took Wisky in my pools. UNL's defense shaky, Crick not 100%, and UNL's offense can't take advantage of Wisky's defensive weakness (DB play) with passing game. i will tell you one thing, i can't wait to watch. enjoy northern WI, pal, was up there for a wedding in October once, place was awesome.

Foxy Knoxy is forever frozen in time in my avatar. i'm a creature of habit. had the same lunch today i've had every Thursday since May when i got hot in bases. i would consider changing avatar for national title/world title/FCS title from one of my teams (Buckeyes, Skins, Browns, Tribe, W&M). yeah, i won't hold my breath.

i'm torn on Badgers and over, but i'll likely settle on my CFB plays for Saturday tonight (although i may wait to lock in Bama). i have about 8 more games to get through, then i'll decide what to do in the Swamp, Blacksburg and Madison. i have Badgers, 40-24; Bama, 24-14; Hokies, 30-29. i was at the second night game in Madison against Purdue. we were at the top, felt as if we were going to get thrown out of the stadium. this will not be a normal home field advantage. that said, i love the over.

Good job getting some pretty good numbers compared to current lines.

I just got to capping the Navy game...oh am I pissed I didn't get on it earlier. Now I'm stuck with 3.5 or paying -120 for the 3. I have Navy -8, so I'm definitely playing it. Baseball has been taking up sooo much of my time that I have not been getting to NCAAF until Wednesdays and Thursdays. Now that the regular season is over and there's no NBA, I will have more time to concentrate solely on NFL and NCAAF. I have to start getting my plays in on Tuesdays like you. Keep up the good work...

Oh and good luck on the second half of tonight's game. Despite my initial lean on USF, I ended up taking Pit +3. Good game so far, looks like it will come down to the last possession.

i'm thinking that i will add 3-4 more picks, and Bama and Stanford are likely to be two of them. looking at Minn/Mich right now, and starting to like that under. i have it as 31-10/34-13 type game, so i see some value there, particularly with Marqueis Gray's foot injury.

in general, i think that people tend to shy away from MAC games as "glorified high school football." not me. i think that NIU is a solid value in that CMU will not be able to keep up with their scoring pace. i also like Ohio U -16 tomorrow.

Hand of God Saturday Picks

Looking to bounce back after a really bad week.

Geelong -3' (Saturday, 12:15am). I'm returning to first principles. This year's AFL season has been about obvious plays, with few exceptions. Geelong are in fantastic form. Collingwood are lucky to be playing in the final. Geelong beat the Pies twice during the season, including a final week throttling. Some of us chalked that up to a disinterested Pies squad, and continued to back Collingwood in the playoffs. Bad move. As it turns out, the week 24 fixture portended both Geelong's playoff dominance and Collingwood's playoff struggles. So, I'm going to back the form side against the limping side. Cats to claim the Premiership with a confident 5 goal win. God willing, HoG to finish on the sunny side of 67% for the Aussie Rules season.

Some quick picks in England and Germany:

Aston Villa -1 at +113 (Saturday at 10am). Wigan are awful.

Man City -1 at -103 (Saturday at 10am). Blackburn are awful.

Also, I'm playing Bayern -1 at -125. The juice is a bit too high to qualify as an official HoG pick, though (it’s easy to be above 50% if you play big favorites – Bayern ML at -192!)

I was looking at Ohio also Biff... How is their defense? I don't know much about them, but it doesn't appear that the Kend State Golden FLUSHES will score much against anyone. Most they've scored all year was against South Alabama and that was in the 20's.

Kent won't score much, the problem is that Kent State has a good defensive line, and Roosevelt Nix in particular could be really disruptive to OU's Pistol. OU would like to run the ball, but so would've Bama against Kent and KSU held them down. i went with NIU as my favorite of the two. i could still add OU, but looking at my card, it's all chalk and overs. chalky like Ashy Larry. i think it's solid but not sure i want that as my final pick. Nix is an absolute beast, one of the best players in the MAC, and OU has been turnover prone.

fortunately for me, i made a questionable decision that worked out after the frustrating push in USU/BYU and absolutely unloaded on the Aussie Rules final (put almost 5u on it since HoG had told me how confident he was). Geelong was an easy winner, pulling away in the 2H. great match, glad ESPN2 showed it. HoG finishes 25-12 on AFL (although he did have a recent cold streak in which he went 3-5 before tonight), and i head into Saturday on the upswing. smoke to that. woot!
