Yesterday started out badly but bounced back to 3-3 + a unit and a change......looking forward to April passing the calendar.

Sunday Night Play April 30th

1 unit

Philadelphia +100......my initial lean was towards the Mets, but Warner is out for the Mets which makes the bullpens on par which is a big consideration for me here..the Mets struggle against righthanders going 2-5 on the year and have struggled against Eaton in his career. Pelfrey has been impressive at home his last two starts, and against the Phils last time out, but this is in a stadium which is unforgiving to pitchers who have good stuff but are mistake prone....hoping here the Phils take advantage of those mistake pitches, and Eaton continues his unexplainable success against the Mets.

Monday April 21st

A pretty good two days, gained over 2 units going 6-3. Need another plus day to get back into the black.
System play time is almost here, should be able to start spot playing system plays by this weekend.......meanwhile sticking to the half unit bets....BOL to all today

1-2 yesterday down a third of a unit, bad beats on Colorado by my Phillies.
Trying out a little mini-system today so its probably a good fade, about 10 days away from full system plays and I hope to start gaining units.

Wednesday April 23

Three plays again tonight, hoping for another sweep. BOL to all.

Toronto -140
Halladay on the mound and Rios should be back in the lineup. Jays should bounce back and win this one handily. Dont like laying chalk on the road but I'll do it with The Doc on the mound.

Colorado -1.5 +181....Hill got shelled his last two times out in Coors and the Cubbies can't keep winning forever, can they? Looking for the Rockies bats to wake up bigtime at home tomorrow and history to repeat itself with Hill. A fade Rich Hill play here, he is a good pitcher but can struggle a bit on the road.

Florida +129.....good spot here for the Marlins facing Bennett, who was good last time out but IMHO is due for a letdown against a tough and tenacious Florida lineup. Andrew Miller has been destroyed this year but I am liking him to bounce back at a Turner field where he pitched a six inning shutout last year. I think Florida has a nice lineup and can easily outhit the Braves who got stymied last night by the young Nats pitcher.

Against you on one. I played the Braves RL. Just think Miller's a mess right now and the Marlins are making a mistake keeping him in the bigs. His velocity is way down, his mechanics aren't right and his command is still erratic. Kid's got a great arm and a bright future, but the organization is doing him a disservice forcing him to figure it out in the majors. I'd be very surprised if he duplicated the success he had in his outing at Turner last season... just a completely different guy right now.

I agree and am all over on the braves -1.5 on the runlines. I know Miller pitched 6 scoreless innings agaisnt the braves last year when these two teams played at Atlanta. I do not know what it is with major league teams facing a rookie starter for the first time. Hitters do not know what to expect from a rookie pitcher and that is what happened to the braves in 2007 when they faced Miller for the 1st time. This time the braves will have a scouting report and be able to take advantage of Miller this time round. And being shutout to the nationals, watch for the braves to put double digit runs on the marlins.

rjt and tab thanks for your input. Marlins are a risky play but I like the way they hit and I think we have a chance to maybe catch the Braves with cold bats. hey, statistically there is about a 50% chance I'm wrong. I'm just not that high on Bennett and I am hoping Miller bounces back.

I agree with your analysis but if we're talking about Andrew Miller, he was not on the Marlins last year. Marlins acquired him in the Cabrera trade this offseason.

I'm a Marlins fan and I think the Marlins will lose by 5 runs. Remember, the Braves got shutout last night. Yes, the Marlins have an underrated offense but Miller has done NOTHING to indicate he is major league ready. Braves RL.

couple bad beats last night, the colorado one wasnt so bad but the Blue Jays choking in Tampa was horrible. Back barely below the surface...targetting next Monday for some system plays......
