I don't give a shit about the total, I have Texas SU and Bradley just hit the go ahead homer. 7-6 Texas. Lock, good to see you on board.

          OAKLAND / SAN FRANCISCO

Bay series grudge match leans Oakland all the way. Although Lincecum is 6-0 with a 2.10 ERA on the road, Duscherer is even better at home: 6-0 and 1.52. Big D has given up only 23 hits in 41 innings at home! SFO is offensively challenged to begin with, Big D should be able to roll their line-up. Oakland is outscoring SFO over the last 10 games 4.9 to 4.2, and Oakland has the better available bullpen: 2.88 ERA to 3.65.

          - SFO is 3-7 in the last 10 meetings in Oakland.
          - SFO is 4-6 in their last 10, Oakland is 6-4.
          - Oakland is 4-0 vs SFO this year.

          MOTIVATION:
Oakland is fighting to keep pace with the Angles (3.5 back). Nobody expected the A's to be in the race this year, they get a chance to gain ground on a weekend in prime time, in front of a big home crowd, to win the series, and embarass their crosstown, weak NL West neighbor.

BIG D hits the switch. Lights-out!

Saint, I'd gladly take the UNDER in this game. 7 looks too low a total to go for but this is one game that wouldn't yield more than 5 runs.

The totals business is quite tricky and it's no one's strength but in general, games often go UNDER when the total is 7-7.5 and often go over when the total is 10-10.5. A's is surer bet in this case though.

                  Tim Lincecum

                  AP
Lincecum had the shortest start of his season on Sunday against the Royals. He lasted just five innings and gave up five runs. Lincecum said he just wasn't focused. A third-inning collision may have also affected his concentration. The subpar outing raised his ERA from 2.21 to 2.54. Lincecum has now been unable to notch a quality start in two straight outings after opening the season with 13 straight quality starts.

If Lincecum gave up 5 runs in his last game, that bodes well for the UNDER today. How? It is in situations like this that the zigzag theory works. If his ERA was 2.21 before that one odd outing, expect him to post a solid outing today. I look forward to a 3-1 or 3-2 A's win.

Oakland needs to be disciplined at the plate and in the field. They don't have much power, so they need to outsmart the Giants and Lincecum at home. All indications are that they will, judging by their recent matchups.

                              Good luck gentlemen.

A fielding error cost the A's the game. Disgusting how they lost this and left 9 on base.

When you bet on a game to go UNDER 7 and it ends with only 1 run, what else can you ask for? I got the UNDER in the A's game. But the A's were disappointing. The A's must have borrowed a leaf from the Rays and Red Sox. The Mariners are the in-form team now.

I'll be looking forward to your Sunday plays. Meanwhile I'm considering the following:
                                              Brewers/Twins UNDER 8 (+100)
                                              Red Sox/Astros UNDER 8.5 (-120)
                                              Pirates +110
(This game fits the profile of a Sunday underdog win. People will pour all their money on the Rays, thinking they'll bounce back from defeat and then they get creamed)

                                                  Sunday

                                                  Parlay: Detroit/White Sox

                                                  Detroit
                                                  - Rockies are 6-25 in their last 31 road games.
                                                  - Detroit is 8-2 in their last 10, and have won 4 in a row.
                                                  - Money stat: Greg Reynolds has pitched 16 road innings for the Rockies this year. In those games, he gave up 6 home runs (1 HR every 2.6 innings). Who's going deep for Detroit today? How many times?
                                                  - In his last three starts, Kenny Rogers has a 3.10 ERA.
                                                  - Detroit gunning for the sweep on a Sunday with big crowd who is fired-up about being back in the hunt. Rogers will feed on the crowd, Detroit's hitters will feed on Reynolds.

                                                  - Redemption: a chance to sweep the Cubs after being swept at Wrigley. Big home crowd full of beer and hatred. Sox love the joint, 26-11 at home!
                                                  - Cubs are 16-22 on the road and have lost 3 straight games.
                                                  - Buehrle has pitched into the 8th inning in four straight starts, giving up only 5 total runs in those games.
                                                  - Buehrle's ERA in his last three starts is 1.50.
                                                  - Cubs are 2-6 in Marshal's last 8 starts dating back to to last year. He was lit-up in his only start this year, Sox are going to go deep on him today and pound him under the pressure at home.

I like your Sox pick, but I'm afraid of the Tigers pick. I expect many people to pound on the Tigers pick, which is why I'm suspicious of the probable outcome. I'm not a conspiracy theorist but such chalky picks have often spoiled my parlays and I've resolved to stay off them. Methinks A's are a better pick than the Tigers in this situation.

Good luck on the A's and your totals picks. You've been right lately. One thing though, I don't pay attention to the line moves or who bets what. I look solely at the matchup on the field, and go with who I think will win. If there's high chalk that I don't like to play, I do a two-team parlay with teams that i feel have a better than 70% chance of winning. This system has worked for me in the long run.

It took all day, but I finally got the White Sox below -140. Just added $74 wager on the Sox at -136 to go along with the parlay. Small money, but it's fun trying to grow it the traditional way.
