I am pulling the trigger. Dodgers are hot and I am going to ride them. SD isn't hitting a lick lately.

Here is the deal. There is no reason this game shouldn't be a repeat of last Saturday. I see Kershaw dicing up the Padres and he gets even less run support at home than he does on the road. Kershaw has a mlb worst 1.5 rpg support in his starts at home since last August. I see Kershaw going about 7 and giving up 1 or 2. Dodgers score a max of 4 tonight. This one stays under 7 fellas.

I like Kershaw too.....probably a low-scoring game as well. I doubt it will be anything at all like last night.

            Good luck!

what do you think about tonights game going over 8.5? i already put it in. I think the dodgers hit willis hard at home and detroit scores a little on bllingsley especially with miggy being hot right now

Chad had a great outing in SD but they aren't near the hitters as the Tigers. Dodgers keep putting up runs and I don't think Mr. Willis is going to make it past the 6th. Dodgers are going to put up 5ish runs. The Tigers struggle on the road and are going to be down a DH. Can they put up 4, sure. I would like the over a lot more if it was 8. The problem with Billingsly is he doesnt have in between outings. So this is going over in the first 4 innings or it won't go over at all.

Record should be current in my signature. Dodgers have now won 11 of 12 and have Ely going today. Not sure if anyone has seen this kid throw but he is around the plate and locates very well. I think he is still getting great value. The way the Dodgers have been hitting the last few nights I can't believe 1. the total is so high and 2. people are jumping on it so heavily. If Gallaraga can hold Boston to 1 run in 5 he can do the same to the Dodgers. Ely will keep the Dodgers in the game and they will pull it out late.

As close as you follow your Dodgers, I do with the Tigers. AG was going nearly 'all-out' in his season's debut, literally fighting to keep a place on this year's squad; hence the strong outing from him. I do not look for that kind of performance this afternoon your time/my time tonight. Their is an 'Art of Pitching' as Jim Price, former Tigers catcher and World Series ring wearer, would say and while AG is beloved by many in this area he hasn't shown the consistency early in the season over his career. Fifty-fifty chance of having an in game discussion in No Rainouts that if it goes, would like you to join. Always enjoy reading your thread.

And thats why I should have waited to see if you had an opinion on this game. What you said about AG makes complete 100% sense and I am a bit worried now. I saw that he held the Red Sox to 1 run and figured if he pitched a similar game would do the same to the Dodgers. As you said it is going to be really tough to match that type of concentration. From what I have seen, many pitchers, especially the non-veteran ones, lose their focus when Manny comes up. This is why Ethier was having such a great year. With him in the line-up I wouldn't have played the under in this one but the team just doesn't have the same potentcy without him. Should be a fun one to watch. That being said if Ely can hold Det to 2 or 3 my guess is the Dodgers win 4-3. Good luck!
I will definitely join the in game thread if you are around.

I broke one of my own rules last night and it cost me. Never trust an unproved pitcher when betting on an under. Lost 1.8 units last night. But we will make that up tonight. Porcello is very shakey on the road and Kuroda has been nails lately.

Well I should have checked the line-ups to see Manny wasn't starting on Sunday. Lost 2.33 units but such is life.
Very interesting line today with Kershaw only -110. I am going to wait for the line-ups to get posted but I am leaning 2 units on the Dodgers right now. Kershaw has been spectacular all year long minus 1 bad start. Dempster has lost his last 5 outings. Also Aramis looks like he will be getting the day off.

I am going to do at least 1 unit but may take them for 2. My only worry is that when the Dodgers have a bad game like they did on Sunday they usually carry it over into the next game. They have had a day off and the Dodgers are terrible without Manny in the line-up. He will be back today and the Dodgers should take care of Dempster. Dodgers have a much better bullpen so if there is a pitching duel they have the advantage there also. Good luck everyone.

Well I was right and they carried over their crappy game into yesterday. Furcal is going to hurt the Dodgers until he is back to normal. Billingsly has been terrific his last few starts and will give a great effort today. I just can't speak for the Dodgers offense. With the #1 spot not producing it is going to really hurt them.
The real twist today is Gorzellany is fighting to stay in the rotation. With Zambrano's return it is either him or Wells. He will be pitching very inspired today but it could turn sour if he doesn't have any balls. I don't know him well enough so I think I am just going to stay away.
I would lean the under with the way Chad has been pitching but I would be weary of Gorzellany.

Well i hope we have all learned in the last few days that when Manny is out of the line up (again today) take the under and the opposing team to the bank! Ely couldn't have pitched a better game and the Dodgers are just pathetic without Manny. The dodgers will start hitting and when they do Ely is going to win some games for them. What an effort from that kid today.

Great day to fade the Dodgers! My guess was the line should be right about -150 and i was spot on. This tells confirms my play on Colorado. Dodgers can't hit a lick right now and they have a relief pitcher starting the game. Their bullpen does not do well in long relief situations. Jeff Francis is back from his injury and he is just the type of pitcher the Dodgers will struggle with right now.

I started another thread about how Dan Haren has given up 10 home runs in his last 3 games. The Dbacks have dropped 8 in a row, are 7-17 against the NL west, have one of the worst bullpens in the mlb. The Dbacks have blown 11 of 21 save opportunities this year. The Dodgers have beaten the Dbacks 14 out of the last 18 times at home. It almost seems too good to be true. I think Haren will pitch well tonight but not good enough and if he does he still has to rely on a shotty bullpen. I am going to throw a small play on the under for insurance if Haren decides to throw a cg shutout.

2-1 adding back 3.5 units. It is hard to cover the runline when you only score 1 run! We will take the win though.

With all due respect to dodger33 and BobHarvey, I disagree - it's AZ lack of hitting that lost them the game. They are misreading the pitches being thrown at/towards home plate and as such aren't making good proper contact. Not saying Ely did not pitch well - it's more of a combination with the percentage up for debate. Congrats on getting the win.

Noon game today. I don't have much of an opinion on Monestarios. He did well against the Rockies and the way the Dbacks have been hitting he should have a quality start. Dodgers got torn apart by Haren and that was not lack of Dodger hitting but they just got beat by a great pitching performance. Jackson is going to have to match that type of effort today if the Dbacks are going to win.

Another win. Thats two in a row. We call that a winning streak! Dodgers are looking pretty pathetic right now. 9 innings of bullpen today will not help them out with the red hot Bravos coming into town tomorrow. Kuroda should be back to form after his last start tomorrow.

Got to go with the Dodgers today. Medlen only has 3 starts this year and 2 were against the Pirates. His ERA is a bit of a joke in that respect. He has a high whip and BAA. Yes the Braves are hot but they aren't very good on the road. Dodgers are 18-8 at home this year and the Dodgers are 7-3 in Kuroda's starts this year. I will take the small juice for a unit.

Dodgers WILL win this game. I expect the Dodgers to score early and they shouldn't let it get close. They showed some life at the end of the game yesterday and are really close to putting a good hitting game together. Sorry Kawakami but today you get your 8th loss.
