Damn, that hurt. No real relief coming either in coming days because I believe next three series will all be unofficial albet they won't be too far outside the .015 RPI margin filter.

THOUGHTS
Damn. Detroit loses their third consecutive series to the WIndians. There was nothing stopping the onslaught that is Cleveland right now. From their first NBA 'chip to a surging Indian offense (including 4HR in the 6th alone), there was nothing touching them. Maybe this will translate to the Browns actually doing something good this year instead of flip flopping between Manziel and Hoyer.
Anyway, two more series begin tomorrow. Both are unofficial according to RPI rankings as of 6/26. I'll update later if anything changes and if I have time, but this should be good enough for now since nothing really changes too drastically in a day in terms of RPI and HOME/AWAY rankings.
PHI vs ARI looks okay to play even though PHI is not the best team. ARI is second to last in the MLB in terms of HOME performance. But, then again just look at that whopping RPI difference: .041. Damn. Scary.
The RPI margin is much less between LAA and HOU but LAA's HOME record is uninspiring and HOU performs well on the road.
If anyone has any input on these two series, please share!
EDIT: Looks like the RPI margin got better for both unofficial series. Also, it looks like there was an overnight pitching change b/c LAA was an underdog last night and now they are a slight favorite, which is good b/c LAA +1.5 last night was about -170. Now, we only have to pay one series at that price instead. Phew!

Phillies come through for us despite it being an unofficial series. It was only .003 RPI points away from being an official series so I guess it was a strong unofficial series anyway. Unfortunately, I forgot to put more money on it closer to game time in trying to get the best price available. Stupid me.
The Angels were nobody's saviors yesterday after being up 2-1 and succumbing to the Astros. Tonight is bet B. The RPI margin has grown by .002 but despite this, the Angels were in good position last night showing that they could definitely win a game this series. However, the Astros are 8-2 their last 10. Also, the last series against HOU (very recent 6/20-6/22), LAA lost the last two games by one run each. Since we're betting LAA +1.5, both of those games would be wins for us. Let's hope for a similar result tonight. I was going to do some LAA ML tonight but I'm going to play it safe esp with the DET series losing on Sunday.
Minnesota provides us with our other unofficial series tonight. I'll have to say I'm not confident at all in this team to win this series although the MIN +1.5 prices don't seem too bad (-140). I believe of the four unofficial series losses so far this season, I believe the Twins have at least one of them. Not sure of that though. I know the Tigers own two of those losses. Can anyone confirm this?
One more thing to keep in mind for the Twins is that they lost six straight to the White Sox as well so they already lost a series against the team we're betting against.
TLDR
- Bet LAA +1.5 (-150 Betonline/-145 Bookmaker) to recoup bet A loss and profit.
- Bet MIN +1.5 (-140 Betonline/Bookmaker) to profit.Last edited by thekoreanmang; 06-28-16, 01:25 PM.Comment -

#323If ARI was .025 RPI points better than PHI, then they would've qualified under V3 but the RPI difference was only .02. I mean that's only .005 away and you can take that if you want but the threshold is .025. But, regardless, it seems like a strong "unofficial" V3 bet.
Good job pointing that out. I may bet it but I won't count it towards the V3 records.
Because I know someone will ask, below are the V2 and V3 rules:
V2.0 System UPDATE:
The update here is designed to allow you even more action during the course of the baseball season by increasing your wager on betting opportunities that have an exceptional probability of betting success.
The change to this new v2.0 system is that you want to increase your stake on the [b] level when these 2 criteria are met:
The change to this new v2.0 system is that you want to increase your stake on the [b] level when these 2 criteria are met:
1. The team you’re betting on is playing at home.
2. The [A] bet that you made resulted in your team losing by 3 or more runs.
Similarly, you want to increase your stake on the [C] level when these 2 criteria are met:
1. The team you’re betting on is playing at home.
2. The [b] bet that you made resulted in your team losing by 3 or more runs.
Here’s an example of the v2.0 system in action:
During the 2008 MLB baseball season, the Detroit Tigers played the Minnesota Twins on the road from May 2nd to May 4th and were swept in all 3 games.
On May 23rd, they began another 3-game series with the Minnesota twins, this time at home. Since the Detroit Tigers fell within the accepted .01 range of RPI disparity with the Minnesota Twins at the time, the series was good to go for betting.
Yet, on 5/23/08, Detroit lost to Minnesota again on the [A] bet by a score of 4-9. Since Detroit lost by at least 3 points at the [A] level, and since they’re playing at home, this would make the [b] bet to fall under the criteria for betting in the v2.0 MLB system.
This means that the next day, on May 24th, you should increase your wagering amount by at least two-fold. So, let’s say that you lost $150 on the [A] bet with Detroit. Instead of betting to win $250 (to attain a $100 profit for the series) as you normally would do, you can double up and bet to win $350 (to attain a $200 profit for the series).
Indeed, the Detroit Tigers came back the next day and completely annihilated Minnesota by their season-record score of 19-3!
Now, I want to note to you that you should of course still make all the bets according to the v1.0 system. However, when a situation arises that meets the criteria of the v2.0 betting system, you should then increase your wager on that betting level by at least twice or more.
V3.0 System UPDATE:
The update here is designed to allow you even more betting opportunities during the course of the baseball season by taking advantage of the unofficial plays that fall outside of the acceptable level of RPI difference between the two teams.
The addition to this new v3.0 system is that you want to make a wager for the team that previously did the sweep (NOT the team that was swept previously!) if the following 2 criteria are met:
1. The team that they swept previously came back and beat them on the very first game of their rematch series.
2. They have an RPI of at least .025 or higher than their opponent.
If your bet loses, you would go on and make a [b] bet for the same team the next day. Most of the v3.0 bets will involve betting on a 2-game series. However, in some rare cases you can also make a [C] bet if both your [A] and [b] bet lose, and the series rematch is a 4-game series allowing you an extra final game to make a [C] wager.
Remember, the same betting rules apply: Always bet on the money line if the team you’re betting on is the favorite to win. Always bet on the run line (+1.5 runs) if the team you’re betting on is the underdog. You can check to see which team is the favorite or the underdog by looking at the run line in the bet lineup. A team showing a +1.5 in the
Here’s an example of the v3.0 system in action:
During the 2008 MLB baseball season, the Boston Red Sox played the Kansas City Royals from May 19th to May 22nd and swept them in the entire series.
On August 4th, Boston played Kansas City again in a 3-game series. At this time during the season, Boston's RPI was at least .025 higher than Kansas City, making the series fall outside of the original v1.0 system's betting criteria for Kansas City. However, Kansas City ended up winning the first game of the series on August 4th.
Since Boston was the team that swept Kansas City previously, and their RPI is at least .025 higher than Kansas City, the fact that Kansas City came back and won the first game vs. Boston make the series eligible for play under the v3.0 MLB system.
Therefore, on August 5th, you would put down an [A] bet for Boston to beat Kansas City. Boston ended up winning the game. At this point you've won the betting series, and there's no need to make any more wagers for either team.
IF Boston had lost to Kansas City again on August 5th, then you would need to place a [b] bet for Boston again on August 6th when they play Kansas City in the final game.
There are no possible [C] bets in this series.Comment -

THOUGHTS
The bad: Angels still suck. Lost by 6 runs. Lost people a lot of money. Lost me a lot of money. Ugh. Doesn't leave much room for confidence for bet C. Someone in this thread posted previously that it's extremely rare for two series to lose back to back even if it is unofficial. However, I think it's already happened once. And, although we had two unofficial series just win (PHI and MIN) since the last unofficial series loss (DET), I would not be surprised, but greatly saddened if LAA lost this series.
I'm not sure whether to advise people to be wary or to push onward to recoup bet A and B losses and profit. With this bet B loss, HOU has beat LAA 7x in their last 7 against each other.
The good: MIN came through despite being the worst team in MLB. They won in convincing fashion triggering a V3 bet for CWS. It's not clear at the moment whether this is a bet for CWS ML or RL, however. Bookmaker has both teams at -105 for ML. Betonline has CWS ML (-110) and MIN ML (+100), but CWS +1.5 (-160) and MIN -1.5 (+140), which is weird because if the team is favored in ML then it would get the -1.5 RL not the other way around.
The pending: Since MIN won their first game against CWS in this new series after losing all of last series against them, and because they are worse than .025 RPI points than CWS, this has triggered CWS as a V3 bet A. For this V3 series, there will only be two games so bet accordingly. It is not clear at the moment whether it will be a ML or RL play on CWS based on the lines but I'm thinking that it will be CWS ML.
TLDR
- Bet LAA +1.5 (-125 Betonline/N/A Bookmaker) to recoup bet A and B losses and profit.
- Bet CWS but not sure if it's ML or RL that needs to be bet on for V3 Bet A. Most likely ML. Will try to update later.

The bad: Angels. Wow. Woe is me. Lost a lot of money on this series. Disheartening really, but hey, it's just money, right? This loss marked the second time LAA has lost a series in this system and the 8th game in a row that they have lost to the Astros. Angels started off okay, let up, had some chances late, but didn't capitalize.
For me, the lesson I've learned from this series loss (and the DET series loss just earlier this week) shows me that the unofficial series are too risky and though they may be still be worth playing, they may have to be played for less. Also, I may even avoid altogether series where the team to bet on has already lost two series a row against the other team. That sounds like it's obvious, but it was also obvious before the third series that there's no way that a team could lose three series in a row to another team, right? Wrong. Absolutely wrong.
The good: CWS came through as a V3 Bet A win. Double profit this series as we got the MIN +1.5 win last night (and on the plus money ML if you were bold enough to play that) and now the CWS ML. Was our saving grace today.
The pending: We get a much needed break tomorrow. Need to rest, reset and rejuvenate for the next series which is 7/1. Then we have four series starting on July 4. Oh goody. Then a few days break then two more series on 7/7 and 7/8. After that, we get a week off until 7/15 when two more series begin.Last edited by thekoreanmang; 06-30-16, 11:11 AM.Comment -

The bad: Sweeps system is coming off some bad losses with LAA and DET losing to HOU and CLE, respectively, three series in a row. Those two teams combined for four of the five unofficial series losses. Not sure who the fifth team is. Anyone know?
We're hitting some volatility again with the unofficial system. Be careful.
The good: We get a lot of series for 4th of July weekend. And, guess what? We get DET vs CLE again! We also get LAA again but against TB this time. MIN sucks but they beat CWS on the first game of the last unofficial series which produced a V3 bet which CWS also won so double profit in that one. MIN has been hitting the ball better as of late. I think PIT is a decent matchup but we shall see.
The pending: ARI is up tonight against SF. I think I'm going to fade this one. Don't want to mess with SF right now especially with their having the best road record. I know this might confuse some of you who want to follow the system strictly but with recent volatility, it might be smart to reconsider individual matchups. Also, unofficial Bet As have gone 10-16, while Bet Bs have gone 5-11.
Good luck on your bets tonight.Comment -

The bad: Unofficial series bet A loses again! ARI was actually winning 4-3 going into the 6th, but SF came back and took the lead and didn't let go from there. Unofficial bet B is 5-11. Prob best to fade again here.
The good: Hopefully you heeded my advice yesterday and faded ARI. SF ML was about -157 to -170 or so. I know it's not profitable long term to be betting such odds all the time but since we aren't, and trying to take this on a case by case, at least for the unofficial series, we should be okay.
I'm likely going to fade ARI again today. I see -115/-119 (Bookmaker/Betonline).

THOUGHTS
The bad: I faded ARI at bet A and B. Won some on A but lost it plus juice on B. Oh well. What with the volatility of the unofficial series as of late it was hard not to fade an unofficial bet B that's been 5-11. Oh well. I didn't go too hard on it and hopefully you didn't either.
The good: Massive amount of bets for the holiday. We actually added two series since the last update. Be careful. Don't like the fireworks potentially blow in your face like JPP. But, we got two official series and three unofficial on deck for tomorrow.
LAA bats waking up like woah as of late. They seem safe to bet ahead of their series with TB.
PIT, too, is a strong bet despite going up against STL. Interestingly, PIT was the last team CHC swept before going on a 4-10 run of futility. Will PIT wake CHC up or will PIT will be able to take advantage of CHC's slump?
MIN is the worst team by RPI in all of MLB. However, their series is against OAK which is not crazily far ahead of them RPI-wise. MIN's offense has also started to hum. Unofficial series but seems good to go.
CIN is second to worst in MLB RPI-wise and are facing CHC (who are coming off a sweep by my Amazins), but hey, it's still a division matchup which can throw a wrench into what most expect to be an easy series win by CHC. If there's ever a potential to fade, CIN might be the one to fade here. I think you're actually supposed to not bet any team that is top 3 RPI. Can someone confirm this?
Don't even get me started on this DET vs CLE series. CLE goes for their fourth straight series sweep of DET but this time they get to do the chop at home. Will DET finally wake the f* up against CLE who showed some signs of vulnerability in their last few games? The RPI margin is the smallest amongst the unofficial series but I'm still afraid and unsure of how to play DET. Maybe fade. Maybe avoid all together.
The pending: See above.
Good luck on your bets tomorrow and happy fourth of July! Let's make America great again by taking some money from offshore books!

THOUGHTS
The bad: Out of the five series played last night, only one won at the Bet A level: PIT. We only have one official series for today and the remaining three are all unofficial. Two of the unofficial series are against teams with top five home records.
Prob best to avoid the CIN and DET series.
The good: Hmmm. What is good about what we have left? I guess DET and LAA only losing by two runs each is kind of encouraging for their Bet Bs.
The pending: All bets below are to recoup Bet A losses and then some profit. Please be particularly wary of placing bets on the CIN series (going against #3 RPI team) and DET (going against #2 RPI team; also lost to CLE 9x straight in last 9 matchups).
Prices below taken at 10:59AM EST.
- LAA +1.5 (-155 Bookmaker/Betonline); LAA ML (+140 Bookmaker; +137 Betonline)
- MIN +1.5 (-165 Bookmaker/Betonline); MIN ML (-102; Bookmaker; -105 Betonline)
- CIN +1.5 (+105 Bookmaker/Betonline); CIN ML (+215 Bookmaker; +218 Betonline)
- DET +1.5 (-120 Bookmaker/Betonline); DET ML (+175 Bookmaker; +177 Betonline)
Good luck on your bets today. If you see any errors above, please let me know. If you see any potential improvements for formatting or anything else, also let me know. Thanks!
EDIT
CIN +1.5 went all the way up to +140 and CIN ML to +290. I was so tempted to take both for half a unit but decided to shut my degenerate self up and just stick with my modest bet to recoup Bet A loss and a small profit. Of course, CIN decides to go up 4-0 in the first two innings. I did place 0.25u at +170 live on the ML. Should've gone harder. Hopefully no one listened to me and just went HAM on CIN +1.5 and ML. Hopefully I didn't just jinx anything.Last edited by thekoreanmang; 07-05-16, 04:18 PM.Comment -

THOUGHTS
The good: We closed out three series total yesterday (one official, two unofficial) including the Reds coming out of nowhere to handily beat the Cubs. I guess division rivalries tend provide an intangible positive for the weaker team.
Less surprising are the wins by the Angels and Twins. The system keeps chugging on and both won convincingly. Hopefully all of you got on these to recoup your losses and then profit. Too bad I was too risk adverse and profited less than what I wanted to. I know it's hard to stomach a loss at any level and to keep plowing along at higher risk exposure. Takes a lot of balls to follow a system.
The bad: The Tigers lose their 11th straight to the Indians this season. Today will prove to be maybe their best shot at breaking this streak at this division rival. Fulmer is a rookie but he has been impressive to say the least. He'll have his hands full going against Tomlin so be careful here. Of course, just like the Reds yesterday, I wonder if I would be wagering too cautiously. We've already lost two series due to the Tigers bending over for the Indians so can't blame anyone here for skipping this bet altogether.
The pending: We have two more series beginning tomorrow and another on 7/8. We have a week off after that. Having five series start all on one day (7/4) was a bit taxing on the bankroll. Glad to be going at a more regular pace in the next few days.
Prices below taken at 11:53AM EST.

THOUGHTS
The good: We escaped unscathed with Detroit finally getting a win against Cleveland and a convincing one at that. Only wish I had bet more. But, could you blame me with all of the losses they had? They accounted for two unofficial series losses alone of the five that have happened so far this season.
The bad: The only bad today is that I wish I had bet more on our recent round of series both official and unofficial. I will still have to go forward thinking that I'd bet more on the official series than unofficial but I should consider wagering a bit more on bets after A.
The pending: One official and one unofficial. I definitely like the Mets play way better than the As, but I'm probably just biased because I'm a Mets homer.
However, the 'Stros seem to be doing well as of late (L10 7-3) but the As have Rich Hill starting tonight who's had a great season so far (8-3, 2.31 ERA, 1.11 WHIP; I know, I know, these aren't the best pitching stats to signify a strong pitcher but it'll have to do for now) and even in the last outing he had against HOU, he went 6IP and only 2ER and that game the As lost 1-2. So, even though the RPI margin is .033 (.018 outside the threshold of being an official play) for this matchup, this particular matchup in this game seems good.
I mean, we did see CIN just beat CHC twice in a row. Anything can happen. It's MLB, probably the hardest sport to bet. Except for maybe cricket or US politics.
Prices below observed at 11:09AM EST.
- NYM ML (-106 Bookmaker/-107 Betonline)
- OAK +1.5 (-200 Bookmaker/-190 Betonline); OAK ML (+108 Bookmaker/Betonline)

Also, if you see any upcoming series that I'm missing please let me know.

EDIT
Looks like the Mets ML line is moving in a cheaper direction. In bookmaker it moved to -101 thereby making them the underdog and moving the RL from -1.5 to +1.5 (-170). Betonline still has their RL at -1.5 (+185) while their ML has cheapened just a bit to -104. Although Betonline has WSH at -106 (Bookmaker has -109) so technically NYM should be a +1.5 as well in Betonline. It'll prob move that way before first pitch.
I'm assuming now the bet is NYM +1.5 but not 100% sure on this. Can anyone with more system experience tell me what to do in this scenario? Do we go by closing lines?
EDIT 2
I now see:
NYM +1.5 (-160 Bookmaker/-155 Betonline); NYM ML (+105 Bookmaker/+100 Betonline)
I'll have to grade by this closing line. Sorry if this is last minute for anyone. This was rather sudden so hopefully NYM just wins or loses by more than two, but hoping for the former, so this isn't a problem for anyone.Last edited by thekoreanmang; 07-07-16, 06:05 PM.Comment -

THOUGHTS
The good: Both our official and unofficial series hit last night at the Bet A level. NYM was down early but our non-power hitting middle infielding duo Flores and Cabrera decided to change it up and go yard all over the Natty Lights.
What is also interesting is that in the last few hours leading up to the Mets game, they went from being the favorites to the underdog. Their RL changed from -1.5 to +1.5 and the ML went from about as high as -109 or so to +105 (from what I've observed on my own books). Many would see this as fishy and try to buy out or switch their positions to WSH, but honestly, what do we know about the motivations of offshore books changing lines like that?
It could be that they know some inside info. Maybe they're just following Vegas books. Maybe they need to level out their sides. It's likely the fact that they're just trying to even out bets. After all, books don't make money by winning a particular bet. They win by getting equal action or close to it on both sides and profiting from that juice.
We, as bettors, could actually do the same by taking plus money lines and then placing an equal bet on the other side once the lines change. It's almost like books are paying you vig for you to place the bet. You can do this pregame if you have multiple outs but the opportunities won't be as plentiful. You can do this much more easily if you have access to live lines. However, there's no guarantee that the other side will enter plus money territory and this would take up a lot of your time and disallow you to enjoy life. Betting/sports can't be your life even if it is your primary job. Even then you need balance.
Anyway, sorry for the soap box digression.
The Atleticos also took it to what should have been the superior team in the Astros and gave us a nice win despite the .033 RPI margin.
The system is feeling good, looking good and padding my bankroll. I/we just need to make sure not to get too excited, stay level and make sure our wagers don't increase exorbitantly, if at all.
The bad: Two more series start tonight but against top two away teams. Will definitely not increase my wagers for these two. After tonight, we have a break until 7/15. I guess some people could see that as a bad. I call it a nice break.
The pending: Both unofficial tonight at Bet A and both going against top three away teams. The RPI margins aren't too bad and both are division rivalries so there could be some sort of parity inducing effect because of that.
We also have a V3 Bet A pending in HOU. Thanks to jreynaud for pointing that out.

#345Just FYI, I may fade PIT here due to several things:
(1) bad unofficial Bet A record,
(2) CHC is #3 AWAY
(3) Alex Vaille posted the below (he has been doing well lately with his picks and I'm a sucker for trends):
Play Cubs -160
Play Cubs RL + 105
team = Cubs and SG = 1 and AF and 5 <= p:PU and date >= 20070928
Cubs 14-1 SU in this spot. I like Arrieta to bounce back today as he has major ownage on Pirates.
starter= Jake Arrieta and A and o:team=Pirates
Arrieta 7-0 against Pirates 6-1 RL on road 12-1 SU against Pirates overall.
And
Liriano 3-3 at home against Cubs and 0-6 RL overall.

THOUGHTS
The good: All three pending plays hit last night! Of course, I'm an idiot and played HOU -1.5, CHC ML and CHC -1.5. I forgot to bet the STL and MIL series altogether after waiting out prices to see where they went. Idiot me.
Hopefully you guys all ignored my post about fading PIT. PIT is surging, CHC is plunging. Gotta be aware of the momentum at play during the season. Stupid, stupid me.
Just follow the system!
The bad: We're off for a week!
The pending: See above.
Good luck on your bets today. If you see any errors above, please let me know. If you see any potential improvements for formatting or anything else, also let me know.
