#667What did you guys do for the CHW bets?.
Hagball your feeling about LAA was right, I personally played LAA moneyline in the end.
i don't normally deviate from the system, but sometimes when you have a feeling, you have to go with your gut, or don't play at all.Comment -

P.S. There are 8 possible sweeps going today with 4 having future plays.
P.P.S. If you noticed, the second game yesterday qualified as a V2 play so I scored it.

#673Hag, If you saved your results from Allidoiswin89's UNDER/OVER system 2013. Could you break that down to just the overs and the unders. I have done it for this year 2014. Or at least the Unders.
Unders 2014
A) 13-8
B) 4-4
C) 2-2
D) 2-0
21-0 +21 units
Overs 2014 Combined
14-2 -21.6 units
I have it at a total of -.6 units instead of +.6 as you have it.
One more thing this is for Official Only , didnt bother with the Unofficial.

#675Well Hagball, I didnt realize how easy it was to backtest this O/U system. Just time consuming. But I will share my thoughts on how to "tighten" up this system. Some think that it is just data mining, but if your filters actually have some bit of logic for their use. (rather than just finding ways to make past L's into W's. Then those logical filters should be considered. jmo
First I should point out: I did not include the games that had a push in between the 3 qualifying games. I did not see that post by allidoiswin in time, and back tested based on what I thought was correct. The logic is , if a game pushes in between games, if that totals line was moved a half point either way , then those games would not have been consecutive. Therefore I back tested so that the game had to either be O or under , no push in between. Just makes it a bit more logical to me. The idea of the 3 run rule is the offenses or the lack of, are failing to flip that median. So statistically they will regress towards that mean and flip the median and get the other side of that total. Hence why the Push should not be included. That just indicates that they have now regressed directly on the median. And could very well return to original domain.
By doing this it eliminated one big loss from 2013. Not that I "data mined" for it. It simply happened so I thought it through as to why.
Another observation that I made, was that it seemed that the AL didnt have as many big losses like the NL. In fact in 2012, my results had the NL with ALL the big losses.
2012 Results. (BTW Official and UnOfficial are all combined.) Saw no point or logic to not do so. other than the P in between games, which I have already removed.)
AL
55-0
NL
72-4
Now the only logic that I could apply here is the DH. And typically the totals are a FULL run more than they are in the NL. But that would only pertain to getting 3 qualifying games. For example, you basically need a game total (on Avg) of <4 in the NL as compared to <5 in the AL for an Over play, the opposite can be said of the under plays.
Still working on the numbers, But at quick glance we are all betting it wrong. I know a lot of action junkies may not want to get on board with my betting strategy, because it limits plays ,,,,,,but increases the ROI considerably. More on that later.
Need to go. Good Luck guys.Comment -

Notes: Nice night again last night. Just wanted to mention that over the course of the season there are usually about 5 or 6 system plays that are rock solid and the Oakland series was one of them. I played it for 5 units and didn't have to chase it so last night was a really good one for me.
P.S. I probably won't post again until Sunday. I'll be traveling today and Saturday. You all have a wonderful 4th of July holiday and Good Luck.

#680Good point Hagball. I too noticed that there has been far too many (c) and (d) plays. Which results in Negative EV on the (a) and (b) plays. Would really like to spell it out using math, but will bore every one. In short we are on to something here. and with solid logic to back it.
Simply put for now, still working out back tests for 5 more years at least to get a good sample size. But in short.
It will end up being only a 2 game chase.. C and D only. (I know action junkies will be sad with limited action) Plus it will need to be back tested far more years to get the sample size up considerably.
With a Minimum of a 2 -1 .
Would really like to get this to a 3-1 or even a 4-1.
Bets to win 2 units on C
Bet C losses and to win 1 unit on D.
This will yield by far the best ROI out there atm. And Hag it doesnt put you at that much risk. A 2 game chase is manageable.
Will be back after the weekend to work out back tests and filters. (Logical filters) Not stupid crap trends like this:
Teams that wear white uniforms on the 3rd Thursday of the month, and a night game. with a 30% or higher chance of rain. are a whopping 142-6 since the dawn of man.
As soon as anyone starts with crap like this , I tune them out.Comment -

#684Hi Hagball,
In the future, look into a free online backup storage service such as google drive, dropbox, iCloud, etc to ensure you don't lose any of your data. I personally use Google drive and it's great as you can access your saved documents anywhere. Hopefully you can retrieve your data as you've put lots of time into it and we appreciate it.

if you are looking for a single file off a HDD/SSD like a spreadsheet or whatever it will be much easier to find. Simply don't reformat that disk, get a new system built off another disk (install windows, etc) Get your own deep scan software that can retrieve files that have been lost/formatted, let it scan for many hours overnight and try and allocate that 1 file and have it rebuilt. I'm sure it's not gone, you can do this yourself.Comment -

#689Thanks for the help. My computer won't turn on. The power button lights up but no screen. You try to shut it off and it goes off for a few seconds and the the power lights comes back on. I have to pull the battery to kill it. We are working with HP and their tech department but will probably have to send it in. I will probably import the JM records to my home pc which is an antique and it moves slower than molasses in January. In the future I will find out how to back up files in case this happens again. I think I've probably lost a lot of what I've done this year and I'll just have to move forward. I ust don't have the time to go back and recapture everything.

#695I work in IT, and have a decent background on retrieving data from hard rives. From the sounds of it, it doesn't sound like the hard drive has completely crapped out on you, so chances are you will be able to retrieve those files. There's always a way to get those files offIt's just a matter of how much value it is and how much you want to spend.

#698Hag, all star break doesn't affect the system. Also, ill be interested to see what results return when backtesting AL <4 runs to qualify a play. As far as the breakdown goes, unfortunately I cant provide hard numbers as I.mentioned I have since had to buy a new computer and lost the data on the.backtest after I posted the results last year. However, I had done an analysis and playing a two game chase on C and D bets was not as profitable as the current way the system is designed. Trust me, I didnt design the system to accumulate as many plays as possible. Thus far I would say this has been the biggest struggle to pick up early series' win.
I am hopeful that this is not a sign that this system will flame out in its 6th year as many do on here.
But please do post results on qualifying plays for the AL when using 4 runs as the base. I know I looked at greater than 4 and even 5 for both AL and NL and it was less profitable as it reduced a lot more plays and didnt eliminate the handful of losses that occured with the 3 run filter over time. As mentioned, this could have been NL that was throwing my data off as it is true that AL games are ticked up a run or so on average and I didnt ever separate the leagues....would add a little complexity when looking there are AL/NL games as the current system is fairly easy to trackComment -

Notes: Sorry about the screw up on the Toronto series. I eliminated it and did not score it. I should have checked the series to qualify it but without my regular computer I overlooked it. No excuses, I'll be more dilligent going forward.
