The Oakland/Rangers game is a solid under (under 8@-114 or under 8.5@-134)

Feldman has had 7 out of his last 10 starts with 2 ERs or less including 3 starts with 0ERs. Anderson has had 8 out of his last 10 starts with 3 ERs or less…with only10 ERs in his last 5 starts combined.

Both teams have very strong bullpens that go 3-4 men deep. They are among the top 4 or 5 pens in the AL. Oakland has such a surplus of good bullpen arms, that they are rumored to be trading from this strength for more hitting this offseason.

This game will be played in one of the better pitchers parks in the game.

This is an afternoon ‘get-away’ game, which would indicate there might be a weaker bat or 2 in the lineup. Josh Hamilton (at last report) remains unavailable to the Rangers.

I also bet the Reds (Arroyo) @ -1 (+102) and am in total agreement with Mr Handicapable. The Reds have been getting handicapped like Cleveland, but they’re playing .500 ball.

Howdy Therber,

I'm pondering the same question. My thought is that everyone still mathematically in it needs to win. About 10 games left. Only team in the playoffs for sure are the Yankees. That, and Home field needs to be secured for the playoffs.

Managers are sticking with their rotations and trying to find relievers that can get people out if they're up in the later innings. Then you have to throw the "lousy teams" into the equation. These are young guys playing for jobs next year and trying to impress (SD, AZ, CINN, OAK, ETC.) So far the pitchers on these teams have kept them in ball games and then their hitters feast on the middle relief guys mentioned previously late in the game. I'm leaning toward the % here. That being, the contenders are motivated enough to get the win despite what the spoilers are throwing at them. Therefore, I'm leaning toward the contenders these last 10 games or so.

Leans for Today:

DET - Verlander pulling his usual late season crap, hopefully not looking ahead to Minn this weekend.

SF - Have to win, Cubs traveling 2 time zones on no rest

BOS

LAD - I think Torre is telling the boys to "get this thing wrapped up" with WAS & PIT

PHI - 1 name - Brad Lidge. Still gotta go with them.

Teamwork worked yesterday, hopefully it will today as well.

I'm having a bit of a funny feeling about today, but trying to shake it off. I think it's because my earlier leans won, so I'm worried about the success rate staying up for the day. (hopefully I didn't just j***x.)

I know im not karma but heres my input. Joba has a 4+ era and lester has a 3+ era and both these teams are excellent hitters so they could put up a lot of runs int his game and even the first inning. My play for this game will prolly be 1st inn score yes. BOL

I'm confused about TA's way of doing things too. I just got back from a long vacation like 2 weeks ago so I missed a large portion of this thread.

I'm thinking turtle means under. Starfish means over. Plankton means take the team and the dollar signs tell you the number of units. Hopefully that's accurate, can someone verify? :O
