Kevin Durant Over 6.5 rebounds (+110 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Following a 15-point loss to the Kings as only 3.5-point underdogs, I expect the leaders of the Suns to take matters seriously with the eyes of the basketball world on them.

That should mean a more motivated Kevin Durant when the Suns take on the Mavs. Durant notched seven rebounds in the game, which was one of his higher totals of the season. His 6.2 rebounds per game this campaign marks a career-low outside of his rookie season in Seattle. We like Durant to make his mark as the power forward he’s still capable of being against a Dallas team allowing 55 rebounds per outing to the opposition (27th).

In such a favorable matchup for accruing boards, it doesn’t hurt to see plus-money odds on Durant’s rebounding total. The +110 odds on Over 6.5 rebounds through FanDuel lead to this being a four-star recommendation, though we would reduce it to three stars at any books offering standard -110 odds on the Over.

Devin Booker 3-plus made 3-pointers (+170 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐

It’s been a trying period for Devin Booker’s 3-point shooting. The 27-year-old guard is averaging just 1.9 made threes per game, equaling one of the lowest marks of his professional career.

Booker’s 34% rate from 3-point range in December represents a stark drop from 40% in November. But we like the nightcap on Christmas to be a breakout opportunity for Booker with juicy plus-money odds on an achievable line.

Booker is hoisting 5.2 3-point attempts per game in December, so landing a few hits for a +170 return at FanDuel is within the range of outcomes against Dallas’ mediocre perimeter defense. The Mavericks rank a pedestrian 15th in the NBA in 3-pointers allowed per game, giving up 12.9 triples per contest.

Luka Doncic Under 10.5 assists (-154 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐

While the primary strength of Luka Doncic’s game is often his tremendous ability to distribute, a matchup against the Suns could prove more difficult in that regard. Phoenix ranks seventh while limiting opponents to 25.1 assists per game.

Although Doncic is likely to accumulate an assist total in the range of his season average that sits at 9.1, it’s surprising to see his total for this prop at 10.5 given the relative strength of the Suns’ defense when it comes to clogging passing lanes. Doncic hasn't logged Over 10.5 assists in any of his last four contests.

While -154 odds are the best we can find for the Under at our best sportsbooks, don’t be afraid to wait until later in the day on Sunday to lock in this wager.
