Familiar playoff foes clash at TD Garden when the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics open their Round 1 NBA playoff series, and we have you covered with our Heat vs. Celtics player props based on the best NBA odds.

There’s no love lost between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics, who will play each other in the playoffs for the third straight season. Boston and Miami have each won an Eastern Conference Finals over their last two matchups, but unlike the last two, the Heat are heavy underdogs in this series.

The Celtics rolled through the regular season with an NBA-best 64-18 record, and the team is at full strength. Miami snuck into the playoffs as the No. 8 seed, but the team will be without its superstar, Jimmy Butler, for the foreseeable future.

To accompany our 2024 NBA Playoffs betting preview, here are our best Heat vs. Celtics player props and NBA picks (odds via our best NBA betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Heat vs. Celtics prop bet predictions for Sunday

Tyler Herro Over 33.5 points + rebounds + assists ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Herro has averaged 31.6 points + rebounds + assists (PRAs) this season, behind averages of 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.5 assists. In Friday's win, he took the Chicago Bulls by the horns, posting 43 PRAs after racking up 36 against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday.

Herro hit the Over in only 14 of 42 regular season games, but he’s hit it in four of his last six while averaging 35.1. He averaged 33.7 in three games against Boston this season, including 40 in his lone matchup at TD Garden. The absence of Butler frees up plenty of opportunities, and Terry Rozier (neck) is in danger of missing a seventh straight game. Herro will need to be heroic for the underdog Heat.

Jayson Tatum Over 41.5 points + rebounds + assists ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Tatum hit the Over in just 30 of 74 regular-season games, averaging 39.9 PRAs. His team is loaded, and there are plenty of mouths to feed, but superstars take over in the playoffs, and we’re counting on Tatum delivering a strong performance at home.

He has played 14 games against Miami over the last two playoffs, averaging 40.5 points + rebounds + assists. He hit the Over in eight of them or 57.1%. The implied probability of our FanDuel odds is 50.5%, giving us a value play.

Best odds: -102 via FanDuel

Nikola Jovic Over 1.5 made 3-pointers ⭐⭐⭐

The second-year man has played well this season, averaging 1.4 triples in 19.5 minutes. He’s started each of his last 28 appearances and bumped his three-point average to 1.7 in those contests. Jovic’s minutes have been inconsistent as a starter or off the bench, but he’s averaged 2.5 triples in 13 games with at least 25 minutes, hitting the Over seven times.

Jovic logged 27 minutes in Friday’s win, and he should see meaningful minutes again on Sunday with Butler sidelined. Rozier’s potential return is unlikely to cut into Jovic’s minutes because he plays forward significantly. The implied probability of these odds is 41.7%, and a $10 wager on this prop yields a return of $14. Given his success when given substantial playing time, we’re getting quality value.
