Two of the Eastern Conferences postseason-bound teams battle it out in New York when the Philadelphia 76ers visit the Knicks. Check out our 76ers vs. Knicks NBA picks based on the best NBA odds.

The 76ers sport the fourth-best record in the NBA at 34-17, and the team has won nine of its last 10 games. Joel Embiid is questionable, but the team is otherwise healthy. Philadelphia won in New York on Christmas but lost to the Knicks 106-104 on Nov. 4 when Embiid was sidelined.

The Knicks have lost three of their last four, including a six-point overtime loss to the visiting Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday. New York is dealing with center injuries of its own, as Mitchell Robinson is the lone player on Sunday’s injury report. Do the Knicks have enough gas left in the tank to take down Philly on the second night of a back-to-back?

The line opened with Philly as strong road favorites at -6.5, but it's come down to -3.5 and is as low as -2.5 at some books.

Embiid’s questionable status obviously impacts this line, but it’s worth noting that he's carried this tag for five straight games and appeared in all of them. The Sixers are just 3-5 against divisional opponents, 12-11 on the road, and 8-6 as road favorites. However, they’ve covered in two straight.

Meanwhile, the Knicks are just 3-7 against their division, 10-16-2 at home, and 1-3 over the last four.

The Sixers have attracted 65% of wagers to cover.

The point total has hovered around 225.5 and 226.5, and bettors are confident in the Over, with 59% of wagers placed on that outcome.

Both teams rank in the top 10 in Over percentage, and each team has hit the Over in four of its last six games. Uncertainty surrounding Embiid’s status makes the point total an attractive wager.

The line movement from 76ers -6.5 to -2.5 or -3.5 gives me pause on betting the spread or the Moneyline because oddsmakers are likely anticipating an Embiid absence. Philly is 8-4 straight-up in games in which is Embiid sidelined, but one of those losses came against New York. Instead, I’d rather target a safer bet and roll with the total.

The 76ers are tied with the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs for the highest percentage of games that hit the Over (60.8), and they've hit the Over in 11 of 14 games as the road favorite. Philly is 4-2 to the O/U in its last six on the road and split the season series with New York 1-1, going Over in New York.

Meanwhile, the Knicks are 10th in Over percentage (53.8), and the team has hit the Over in four of its last five outings. New York is 16-12 to the O/U at home and a whopping 8-2 against divisional opponents.

We’re taking the Over if Embiid plays, but if he’s sidelined, we feel even more confident about that outcome. The Sixers average 114.5 points per game with Embiid available compared to 116.2 when he’s sidelined this season. The team’s defensive rating drops from 112.6 to 114.3 with Embiid out.
