Let's look at the best Colorado win total odds through the college football odds and assess whether the team can make another leap in a new-look Big 12.

The Colorado Buffaloes were the talk of the town to start the 2023-24 college football season, winning their first three games while defeating TCU, Nebraska, and Colorado State. The Buffs then notched just one victory the rest of the way, finishing the year 4-8 during Deion Sanders' first season as the team's head coach.

While many people were eager to celebrate Colorado's poor finish, it's easy to forget that this team exceeded expectations in a significant way. The Buffaloes won just one game the previous season and entered Year 1 of the Sanders era with a win total of only 3.5 games.

But will Colorado now continue to improve in 2024 when the program returns to the Big 12 after the Pac-12 was torn apart?

Our best sports betting apps believe in Coach Prime, listing the Buffaloes with their highest preseason win total since 2018 when they were given an Over/Under of five wins.

Colorado win total prediction

Over 4.5 wins (-168)

There's no reason to pay this much juice to take the Over right now. We recommend waiting until the rest of our best college football betting sites offer a win total for Colorado, leading to the opportunity to shop around for the most appealing value. There should also be plenty of movement based on the popularity of this program.

But the most likely outcome for this upcoming season is Colorado taking another step and winning at least five games. That's why FanDuel is charging as much as -168 for this Over, which comes with an implied probability of 62.69%.

Much like prior to the 2023 season, the Buffs are getting a winnable non-conference slate to open the campaign. If Colorado can start 3-0 again, we like its chances of collecting multiple wins during Big 12 play while returning to the conference for the first time since 2010.

The Buffaloes will need to play many of the league's top contenders, with matchups against Kansas State, Utah, Kansas, and Oklahoma State on deck for the final two months. But there isn't a program in the new-look league that should boast a superior talent advantage, which should work in Colorado's favor given its potential upside.

Shedeur Sanders, who's the son of Deion, will return to start at quarterback for a second consecutive season. He threw for 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns while flashing Heisman odds leader potential. There also aren't many players in the league better than two-way star Travis Hunter, who dealt with injuries after a strong start to 2023

As long as Colorado continues to bolster its talent in the trenches through the transfer portal, we believe this team can win a few games in a wide-open Big 12. The Buffs should flirt with bowl eligibility in 2024, and the haters will absolutely hate to see it.
