    is GGL injured or fixing?

Can't believe he might go down 2-0 to Steve Johnson...The same Johnson that has 3 clay wins all season: Donald Young, Alejandro Gonzalez and Michael Venus.

Thinking same thing, wtf. So much for him being a "clay court specialist"

Guys.... There's a difference in speed here.... There is more than one type of clay court. GGL had a great run a few weeks back... And he's not fixing at a grand slam lmao. GGL has never done well on slow clay

I just wish we could see the match...At least that way I'd get some entertainment out of Lopez's laughably bad return of serve, as that's the only really threatening part of Johnson's game. There's been some longer than usual pauses between some parts of the match, so GGL might've seen the trainer a couple times.

Man GGL is better on any kind of clay than Johnson. And he isn't bad on slow clay. I think Estoril was slow clay and he barely lost to Gasquet. I don't remember how fast Bucharest was but he took the title there. Rome is slow clay and he beat Cilic and Dolgo (both way better than Johnson). He made it to R16 last year at the french and took out wawa in the first round.

So Your telling me he's fixing at a master event? Everyone has an off day every once inawhile... Your basing your stats off Johnsons poor clay record.... Look who Johnsons faced recently.... Isner, Nadal... He's hasn't played bad vs them. The guy isn't that bad on clay

I would be saved with a retirement. I'm not gonna get it though, the match is going to be lost in a 3rd set tiebreak.

He probably isn't fixing but these kinds of thoughts come up when are you are a -500 favorite and in good form. And although he was playing good competition, there wasn't any belief that Johnson was going to win those matches. I remember having +5 or something like that with Johnson vs Nadal and I had to sweat it out as Nadal had so many break points. I like Johnson's game on HC but he isn't very threatening on clay.

I guess my point was GGL has never done well at the FO last year was the first time ever at the age of 32 that he made around of 16.... He almost lost to Donald Duck in 5 sets :/

well, GGL at the age of 31 is playing the best tennis of his life so I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. Also Young was actually pretty good last year. He has faded again this year though.

And GGL with his first break of the match!! Maybe 5 sets on the way.

Have faith in GGL. Johnson is certainly the type of player to lose from 2-0 sets up.

It does seem like GGL particularly enjoys 5 set matches at majors .

hopefully he can keep the break this time. I would be feeling much better if I could watch it...There's way more anxiety when you are just boxscore watching lol.

anyone know how much of a dog Johnson was after he was broken at the start of the 5th? Now I'm just mad at myself for not putting a bit more on Johnson at what probably was insane odds.

Yup. I feel a bit better about it than I did before. Even though I lost a potential $700 in two parlays. If Garcia would've laid down in that 3rd set that would've put me on tilt. The least you can ask for is fighting spirit and if there's any glimpse of that, I can't complain.
