At odds of $3.73 (+273), I like Patricia Mayr here. Purely for value. The two have met once before, with the 60th ranked Beck saluting earlier this year in three sets. Beck is good to fade, purely due to her being so inconsistent. Beck won her previous two matches as an underdog ($2.89 v Vinci and $3.59 v Bacsinsky). In her two matches prior to this tournament, she lost to Schmiedlova as a $1.38 favourite, and to Kudryaseva as a $1.58 favourite. Last month she also lost to Vekic and Torro-Flor as a favourite. Similarly, Mayr is also inconsistent, which means she is good to back when she is an outsider. She is coming off against victories in this tournament against Parmentier and Knapp, as a $2.46 and $3.67 outsider respectively. In fact, she has won nine of her 29 matches this year as an outsider ($2.18 to $3.67).
