Im thinking of opening an account with Matchbook but I just need a few opinions and also got 2 questions before I do.
What are the limits like on NFL/soccer/Tennis are they as good as pinny?

    What are the payouts like?

    Don't hesitate. Join up.
Payouts are excellent. Not as quite as quick as Pinnacle's or SBO's but who's are?

As long as you get closer to game time should be plenty of money in pools to bet

Bases is not bad either ..just do not go by looking way before game times

Big money to me is 4 figures.

One last thing. Whats the customer service like? Are they fast at responding to emails etc?

Again, quite a diff. between $1,000 and $9,999.
If you're betting earlier you may have difficulty but closer to game time $5,000 wouldn't be a problem.

Not the fastest with email responses in my experience. They do have online chat which I've found to be ok.

Matchbook are good exchange to have. They seem to have sorted some of their tech problems that were discussed in recent threads.

I wonder if the markets will converge somewhat as they increase their customer base and liquidity. Probably not I think - Betfair still has the monopoly.

Betfair could never be compared to anyone as I have thousands and thousands of time the volume of any other sports book in the world

Talking about soccer horseracing and tennis mainly

I don't regard a "free payout" (of my own money) as a "perk"!

I'm surprised matchbook does not have more liquidity on soccer and tennis

I still think the majority of matchbook money is from Canada as far as U.S. Sports

These European and United Kingdom nations just don't want to leave betfair or at least give other exchanges some action as far as soccer and tennis

Betfair better for Soccer. But for MLB and NFL matchbook has better liquidity. 4 Figure bets after 11am est on game days not an issue.

More often than not Matchbook beats Betfair on soccer AHs especially with their current half rate commission promo.

Matchbook is way better than Betfair simply because of commission (much less) . For US sports the liquidity is awesome as well... World Cup has been great too

Matchbook is a must have for sure.
But "way better" depends on several factors.
Firstly, what commission rate are you on with Betfair? Matchbook is effectively 2%. Not everyone pays 5% at Betfair. I pay 3% so the margin on commissions may not be all that great.
And Betfair offer way more sports and markets than Matchbook do. e.g. you can't bet tennis sets at Matchbook.
For US sports Matchbook liquidity is certainly much better than Betfair's.
If you can, you'd be a fool not to be using both exchanges.

Matchbook and Betfair are two totally different types of sports books

MatchBook is mainly a pre-game betting facility

Betfair mainly is a live betting exchange platform

The only thing matchbook has over betfair is pregame liquidity in USA sports

Much more to it than that.

Being in Australia, live betting is practically impossible yet I find Betfair invaluable.
Betfair offers so many more markets than Matchbook.

Matchbook generally has it over Betfair for soccer handicaps due to reduced commission rates.

MB is good to have. Odds are not always good as Pinnacle and asians (because you pay comission even when you lose) but sometimes you can get better odds. I usually use them when laying (betting against) heavy favs (arbitrage trading) since your liability is small and you're charged %1 only based on your risk/liability. Your liability is not much when you're laying (betting against) heavy favs.

Disadvantages are, bet variety is poor and they charge comission even when you lose, it's ridicililous. You should pay comission only when you win imo. But %1 is fantastic. Not to mention, It's %0.50 in handicap markets! Liquidiy is not very good but it's okay in major leagues specially thru the kickoff. But bet variety is very poor. Still good to have.

1% commission at Matchbook is quite misleading.

You have to risk $101 to win $99.

    That's 2%.

Matchbook have been a godsend since Pinnacle introduced their nasty 5x rollover rule.

Their odds (after commission) are about as good overall, and I can deposit, place a large bet, and withdraw if needed afterwards.

Saying that I probably roll over my deposits 5x or more in Matchbook, but its nice to know during a big winning streak there I wont get any BS withdrawing!!

I hope they get bigger and bigger, Betfair need a serious competitor, and it would be nice not having to chase Betfair points every day to avoid commission rates going up the following week.

    hi

So much for opening up your matchbook account. Matchbook is inaccessible to customers from
    Canada now.
