    The Drinks & Cigars Thread

Since this is The Saloon, what more appropriate place is there to make a drinks and cigars thread? I'll start with these, some of my favorites.

Villa Zarri 20 years old Italian brandy. Probably the best brandy I've ever had and I've had many.

My favorite cigar. Arturo Fuente Anejo "Shark". Only comes out once a year, at Christmas.

Padron 3000 Maduro. One of my favorite every day smokes.

The Murcielago Belicoso. A new cigar that I really enjoy.

Do yourselves a favor, gentleman, and pick up a bottle of Domaine D'esperance 10 years old bas-armagnac if you ever see it. You can thank me later.

Jean Fillioux Cognac. His entire line is excellent.

I'll add more as we continue on of course but I hope everyone participates in this thread so we can get a good discussion going.

Cigars taste like crap (no I don't know), plain and simple. Worst feeling in the world is waking up after a night out and having that taste in your mouth from a cigar that listerine can't even touch for 24 hours.

I'm not a rookie. Actually I was one of the guys who smoked cigars in the early 90's before everyone thought they would look cool smoking them. However, my vast experience in this area brought me full circle to the truth. I'll chew on one here and there, but I don't get what anyone takes from smoking.

Finally, we can get a discussion going. Anything Padron makes is excellent. His entire line is nothing but quality from top to bottom. One of the best cigar makers in the world no doubt.

I also like Rocky Patel's line although he lost some points in my book when it was found out that he actually dyes some of his cigars.

    Padron 1926 Serie

Not usually into flavored cigars but this one is worth mentioning. It's the Rocky Patel/Drew Estate Java Mint. Sort of like smoking mint chocolate chip ice cream.

One of the best very mild cigars there is. The Don Diego Playboy.

The World's first and Oldest Rum. Mount Gay Rum.

    Nuvo Sparkling Vodka Liqueur.

I have a bottle of knobb creek. I also recommend bulleit bourbon. I like this thread...bought a bunch of cigars when I was outside of the country...had to take the rings off and replace them with some cheapie brand rings to get them through customs...good tip to know.

One of my favorite combinations is a Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur #1 maduro and some Pampero Aniversario rum
I was never really a rum drinker until I tried Aniversario, it's an outstanding sipping rum, drinks very much like whiskies.

Seems like the only place to vent about this...but I was just inspecting my humidor and I noticed that it was not shut all the way--a cigar lodged under the hinge. I live in Utah and my whole collection has been dried out. This is a sad day.

For all the tequila drinkers. These are the best 2 tequlias I have ever had...both very smooth sipping tequilas that make Patron taste like bathwater.

I love 3G's tequila, the Plata is good, but I prefer the Anejo, especially for sipping. Patron Silver is alright, but always thought their Anejo and Reposado were too sweet.
