Rondo can't score but he can dish out 10-15 assist , rebound about 5-8, and get about 2 steals a game. Perfect fit for Dallas. He will make it easier for everybody else to score on Dallas. Similar to the way they used Jason Kidd back in the day. Rondo is unquie where he needs scorers around him to bring out his true value.

I've always thought Rondo was overrated.

I remember morons saying OKC should trade Westbrook and get Rondo BC Rondo would be a better facilitator. Lmao.

    Rondo can't hold Westbrook's jock.

They got him to defend Westbrook in a playoff series. Brandan Wright is only guy they will miss.

Hes a much better option to defend Russell than what Dallas currently has end of story.

I thought you liked the move for the Mavs?

They did give up more than what people were saying yesterday. Bummed to give up Wright.

The picks don't matter too much. Dallas has always sucked at drafting and they just gave up a late 1st round pick and a 2nd round pick.

Dallas #1 contender to win it all now. Best trade of the decade. They gave up nothing. Cuban a genius.

"All that" ... besides Wright, I see a bunch of spare bags. Mavs have said it a ton, they do not value draft picks. They build via free agency every year, not stockpiling picks. Surprised they could pawn Jameer Nelson off on them for his two year deal.

Rondo is a perfect fit for Dallas whether or not they sign him to a new deal. They need a PG badly.

For this year, it gives them a legit shot to be a player. My money is on Cuban doing whatever is needed to keep him in Dallas with a new deal.

Rondo won't need to take a shot outside of 5 feet on that team. They're loaded with gunners.

mavs didnt need another scorer anyway

rondo is the perfect fit. he is an ace facilitator

he is an also a strong defender, which is key in the west when u compete vs parker, lillard, westbrook, curry cp3

Add another 8-13 triple doubles to his resume. This was an easy trade.

Always been high on Rajon, love pass first pgs. Dallas will be a slower team now though in the halfcourt I suppose which probably isnt a bad thing, he's a defensive upgrade also.

Hes a pass first pg because he cant shot. J-kidd lite. Curious to see how him and ellis are going to co-exist. Like the set up last year w/calderon, who didnt need to ball to be effective.

Made sense for the Mavs to go for it, and they didn't give up much. But like the above poster said Rondo has injury issues. He has played in less games in the last four years than even Steve Nash.

If you look at rondo's shooting numbers from an analytical and hard data figure they are way above average. In a 7 game series he can dominate like few others. Has killer instinct. One of the most cerebral players of his era.

True inside the 3 point line he's actually a good shooter. If anybody can get the most out of him Jim Carrey can.

As for the dominating and having killer instinct...seems like half the western conference teams have a point guard like that.

wright was the only piece of value that they lost
no rookie was going to truly help this team in the present
rondo can defend the other top pg's in parker, cp3, lillard, curry, conley, westbrook
hes also a strong rebounder at his position
he wont need to shoot with the firepower thats already on the team
only real downside is he cant space the floor and he cant hit a ft

Anyone who believe Boston robbed dallas is an idiot, and I don't like rondo.

    Nelson is a fossil
Crowder is a good 8th man
    Wright is a nice 6/6 7th man
1st rd pick will be around 26-28
    2nd rd late 50s

Rondo wasn't signing in Boston. Brutal trade for Boston, could have received more for him

An interesting move. Giving up Wright is a bigger move than you guys are giving it credit for. He's a solid finisher (not a great defender) that continues to improve every year. Very good pick and roll scorer. Mavs were pretty weak at pg, but not the worst. Harris is a solid guy off the bench, but isn't the distributor that Rondo is.

    Rondo can't hold Westbrook's jock.

Not as a shooter, but as a passer and playmaker he is superior to westbrook.
Rondo is a perfect fit for the Mavs. Cuban made the right move. You'll see it down the stretch
in the playoffs and in coming years because Cuban will sign him.
Ainge did what he had to do because this Boston team needs more players with potential
to sift through until they find what combination can compete against the highest level opponents.
Once RR gets in a groove with distributing the ball, drawing in defenders, play fakes, speedy
layups out of nowhere, you'll see Dallas blow a lot of teams out of the water.
I would pick them to beat OKC if Rondo is healthy. If I were in charge of Dallas right now
with that roster of shooting veterans I would rather have Rondo than Westbrook. No question.

They have a small window with a few players so they're trying to win it all this year. I understand overpaying and worrying about next year, next year. I watched Jameer Nelson play the last few games and he probably facilitated the trade more than anyone. They won despite what he was doing on the court.

Dallas year in and year out is the most overrated team in the NBA.

They are soft. Not one player on the team drives to the hoop.

They are improved, but definitely not the best team by any stretch. The Warriors, Spurs, Grizzlies, and Thunder are better teams. A healthy bulls team is at least on par with Dallas.

Rondo will win the best players in the league on his team, that we have seen. By himself he is slightly better than me but my contract is less. Plain and simple. That being said, this situation could be good for Dallas.
