Rex Ryan to the Bears makes sense.

I'm listening to Michael Kay right now and that's what they're throwing that around. He could at least make that Bears Defense stable.

Rex is done as a Head Coach, not going to happen... Will be pursued as a Defensive Coordinator what he knows best. Maybe Belichick would hire him

I don't like him, but there are a ton of people who don't blame him for the Jets situation.

Ditka was the last strong personality to coach the Bears while the McCaskeys run the show.

    You won't see Rex there.

Will he even take a job as a DC? He'll be a good pickup for some team if so.

    Rex has coached under:

    - Woody Johnson, who is a dream owner for the rest of the league - he's got money to burn and is not very bright or aggressive.

    The two GMs,

    - Mike Tannenbaum, who is one of those rare Jews who don't understand how money works

    - Idzik, a total disaster.

Frankly, if I had a team I wouldn't risk it with Rex. Would pay top dollar for him to DC, though - top dollar.

Bears made a big mistake years ago. They should have handed a blank check over to Bill Cowher and let him fill it out. He would have been a great fit. There is no reason for a market like that to be so cheap with their head coaches.

Ryan shouldn't be coaching anywhere; fast mouth, stupid mind and no talent.

It makes sense if the goal of the Bears is to land a #1 lottery pick. Someone like Peyton Manning.

Lovie was a problem, this is a different problem. The main problem is the decision makers at the top, until that changes, the problems will continue

I must confess: There are times when I think Rexy baby might not be that bad of a coach, and if he coached anywhere but for the most disfunctional organization in the NFL he might not be half bad.

I'd say he's a situational coach - in some situations he's ideal and in others he's a disaster.

He was overachieving for awhile there - and then when the Jets saddled him with some challenges he was a disaster.

He is kryptonite bye-weeks (he goes on vacation like the players), but excepting this season his teams usually beat the teams they should - kept baffling losses to a minimum. They just couldn't hang with the Pats, Steelers, etc.

He got rookie Geno Smith with ZERO offensive talent last seaosn to 8-8

He took Rookie and 2nd year Mark Sanchez teams within 1 game of the Super Bowl

I understand some people don't like him but he's a good coach....The whole point is getting the most out of your talent

Many think he will go far with an established QB/offense like Falcons or Bears

Hey...how was that 10 win season prediction at the beginning of the year...you were all over me because I told you the Jets will suck. And Ryan played a large part in their demise after he took over a talented Mangini team the first 2 years as he started to put his fingerprints all over this team...
If you really believe his is a good head coach then I don't know what else to say to you, except you are fuked and now have to rebuild again!!!!

I have never seen a head coach who shot himself in the foot more than Rex. He lets the loudest and least educated of his players speak for his team (ie, Scott, Cromartie). No successful coach allows that. He also mouths off himself about how they're going to win the Super Bowl, about how good his team is, about how his opponents suck, etc. Consistently gives his opposition bulletin board material and added incentive to play their hardest. He's also stubborn as a drunken mule (ie, playing Geno until the season was destroyed.) He may be a players coach and a good defensive coordinator, but he is a very ineffective head coach.
