    Can someone please explain this...?

ECU are up 21-24. There's 1:38 left on the clock. They have a 1st Down on the UCONN 15 or thereabouts. I'm on the under.
This might be a stupid question, and I guess I'll hear about it if it is, but I'm a first season CFAA bettor and I want to know in case this happens in the future:
Couldn't ECU take 40 seconds for each of the 3 plays left, take a knee each time and ice the game, winning 21-24?
Instead they rushed it for a TD with 1:00 left, kicked off, and held ECU out to win 21-31. The under hit, but it could've gone south on me with a last second Hail Mary by UCONN or some other crazy shit.
I thought a team had 40 seconds for each play. Is this right?
    Thanks for any answers.

No, that would be dumb. You score in that position every time. Why by up by 3 when you can be up by 10

OK. Just figured they could run the clock down safely and be done with it. So is it 40 seconds per play or have I got that wrong?

Bearcats at home by 10. should be no problem
for them vs South Florida. South Florida excels at nothing.
Cincy has a high ranking air assault.
    BYU ml. Boise is crap.

I believe UConn still had 2 timeouts left

They also ran the ball so they were just trying to run out the clock but uconn just couldn't stop them from running it into the endzone for a TD. ECU was only at the 9 yard line

Agree with you on BYU but just gonna take the points. I think I like the under in aac game better than a side.

There is also the window dressing element of a team looking for a new years day bowl trying to make the final score look a little more appealing. In the nfl that is obviously not a factor

I just took under 58.5 -110 live on the s. florida game. I don't think they get there after watching the first quarter. 6 TD's and a field goal put us at 58. S. Florida needs to stop the pass.

Just took Cin -17.5 Live too. Two big plays so what. SF had a receiver get hurt. SF can't stop Cin. SF has shown weakness.

Good play on the Under.....don't know why I took Over when SFs offense sucks so bad every year. Not to mention a lot of teams from warm areas don't feel like playing in the cold

Watched the end of the half in the Troy game, what clowns. Starting QB out for Cin. Might kill the spread for me. The dudes name is Munchie. No joke.

Horrible bet with the BYU total. It was 10-0 after 1q. I can't believe I lost the Cin spread on the hook. Terrible luck in that one. Just took Cal +17.5. I'm trying to get one back here. They are matching Oregon stat-wise through 1q.
